Comment #1

I am confused (easily). The second image shows the links in the correct position. Do you mean that you WANT the new links to be ABOVE the Account/Cart/Checkout links?..

Comment #2

Or do you mean that you want all the links in you header inline with your logo?..

Comment #3

I want the links to be where it says "up here".

...it's also circled in the first picture...

OK..

1) Make backup copy of catalog/includes/header.php.

2) Open catalog/includes/header.php in text editor.

3) Find the following block of code:.

<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">.

 <tr class="header">.

   <td valign="middle"><?php echo '<a href="'tep_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT)'">'tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES'oscommerce.gif', 'osCommerce')'</a>'; ?></td>.

   <td align="right" valign="bottom"><?php echo '<a href="'tep_href_link(FILENAME_ACCOUNT, '', 'SSL')'">'tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES'header_account.gif', HEADER_TITLE_MY_ACCOUNT)'</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="'tep_href_link(FILENAME_SHOPPING_CART)'">'tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES'header_cart.gif', HEADER_TITLE_CART_CONTENTS)'</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="'tep_href_link(FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING, '', 'SSL')'">'tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES'header_checkout.gif', HEADER_TITLE_CHECKOUT)'</a>'; ?>&nbsp;&nbsp;</td>.

 </tr>.

</table>.

<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="1">.

 <tr class="headerNavigation">.

   <td class="headerNavigation">&nbsp;&nbsp;<?php echo $breadcrumb->trail(' &raquo; '); ?></td>.

   <td align="right" class="headerNavigation"><?php if (tep_session_is_registered('customer_id')) { ?><a href="<?php echo tep_href_link(FILENAME_LOGOFF, '', 'SSL'); ?>" class="headerNavigation"><?php echo HEADER_TITLE_LOGOFF; ?></a> &nbsp;|&nbsp; <?php } ?><a href="<?php echo tep_href_link(FILENAME_ACCOUNT, '', 'SSL'); ?>" class="headerNavigation"><?php echo HEADER_TITLE_MY_ACCOUNT; ?></a> &nbsp;|&nbsp; <a href="<?php echo tep_href_link(FILENAME_SHOPPING_CART); ?>" class="headerNavigation"><?php echo HEADER_TITLE_CART_CONTENTS; ?></a> &nbsp;|&nbsp; <a href="<?php echo tep_href_link(FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING, '', 'SSL'); ?>" class="headerNavigation"><?php echo HEADER_TITLE_CHECKOUT; ?></a> &nbsp;&nbsp;</td>.

 </tr>.

</table>.

4) And replace it with this:.

<TABLE BORDER="0" WIDTH="100%" CELLSPACING="0" CELLPADDING="0">.

 <TR CLASS="header">.

   <TD VALIGN="middle"><?PHP echo '<a href="'tep_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT)'">'tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES'oscommerce.gif', 'osCommerce')'</a>'; ?></TD>.

   .

   <TD ALIGN="right" VALIGN="bottom">.

   <TABLE WIDTH="99%" CELLPADDING="3" CELLSPACING="3">.

   <TR>.

     <TD><?PHP if (tep_session_is_registered('customer_id')) { ?><A HREF="<?php echo tep_href_link(FILENAME_LOGOFF, '', 'SSL'); ?>" CLASS="headerNavigation"><?PHP echo HEADER_TITLE_LOGOFF; ?></A> &nbsp;|&nbsp; <?PHP } ?><A HREF="<?php echo tep_href_link(FILENAME_ACCOUNT, '', 'SSL'); ?>" CLASS="headerNavigation"><?PHP echo HEADER_TITLE_MY_ACCOUNT; ?></A>.

     &nbsp;|&nbsp; <A HREF="<?php echo tep_href_link(FILENAME_SHOPPING_CART); ?>" CLASS="headerNavigation"><?PHP echo HEADER_TITLE_CART_CONTENTS; ?></A>.

     &nbsp;|&nbsp; <A HREF="<?php echo tep_href_link(FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING, '', 'SSL'); ?>" CLASS="headerNavigation"><?PHP echo HEADER_TITLE_CHECKOUT; ?></A>.

     &nbsp;&nbsp;</TD>.

   </TR>.

   <TR>.

     <TD><A HREF="http://www.yoursite.com">add link here</A>&nbsp;|&nbsp;<A HREF="http://www.yoursite.com">add link here</A>&nbsp;|&nbsp;<A HREF="http://www.yoursite.com">add link here</A>&nbsp;|&nbsp;<A HREF="http://www.yoursite.com">add link here</A>&nbsp;|&nbsp;</TD>.

   </TR>.

   </TABLE></TD>.

 </TR>.

 </TABLE>.

 <TABLE BORDER="0" WIDTH="100%" CELLSPACING="0" CELLPADDING="1">.

 <TR CLASS="headerNavigation">.

   <TD CLASS="headerNavigation">&nbsp;&nbsp;<?PHP echo $breadcrumb->trail(' &raquo; '); ?></TD>.

   .

   .

 </TR>.

 </TABLE>..

Comment #5

The problem now is that they're centered. I'll try to figure out how to place them on the right side, but if someone wants to tell me, go ahead...

Comment #6

Find:.

Make the first <TD> say <TD align="right"> and that should do it..

You know, learning some basic HTML would really be a very good idea if you're planning on doing much modifying of the basic site, not to mention making products descriptions far more interesting. It would save you a lot of questions..

Google "HTML basic tutorial" and you should get some sites to help you...

Comment #7

Ok last question,.

How would I change the color and font of the links, without changing it elsewhere on the site?..

Comment #8

Add new style to catalog/stylesheet.css.

See link for help:.

Http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/refere...ylesheet_guide/..

Comment #9

So I need a new stylesheet to change the color of these links?..

Comment #10

Assuming that you are using OSCms2.2 here is one way to do it:.

1) Make backup copy of catalog/includes/header.php.

2) Open catalog/includes/header.php in text editor.

3) Find the following block of code;.

<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="1">.

 <tr class="headerNavigation">.

   <td class="headerNavigation">&nbsp;&nbsp;<?php echo $breadcrumb->trail(' &raquo; '); ?></td>.

   <td align="right" class="headerNavigation"><?php if (tep_session_is_registered('customer_id')) { ?><a href="<?php echo tep_href_link(FILENAME_LOGOFF, '', 'SSL'); ?>" class="headerNavigation"><?php echo HEADER_TITLE_LOGOFF; ?></a> &nbsp;|&nbsp; <?php } ?><a href="<?php echo tep_href_link(FILENAME_ACCOUNT, '', 'SSL'); ?>" class="headerNavigation"><?php echo HEADER_TITLE_MY_ACCOUNT; ?></a> &nbsp;|&nbsp; <a href="<?php echo tep_href_link(FILENAME_SHOPPING_CART); ?>" class="headerNavigation"><?php echo HEADER_TITLE_CART_CONTENTS; ?></a> &nbsp;|&nbsp; <a href="<?php echo tep_href_link(FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING, '', 'SSL'); ?>" class="headerNavigation"><?php echo HEADER_TITLE_CHECKOUT; ?></a> &nbsp;&nbsp;</td>.

 </tr>.

</table>.

5) Add the following code AFTER the last </tr> tag and BEFORE the closing </table> tag to the code above:.

<TR CLASS="headerNavigation">.

   <TD CLASS="headerNavigation"></TD>.

   <TD ALIGN="right" CLASS="headerNavigation"><A.

   HREF="http://www.yoursite.com">add link here</A>&nbsp;|&nbsp;<A.

   HREF="http://www.yoursite.com">add link here</A>&nbsp;|&nbsp;<A.

   HREF="http://www.yoursite.com">add link here</A>&nbsp;|&nbsp;<A.

   HREF="http://www.yoursite.com">add link here</A>&nbsp;|&nbsp;</TD>.

 </TR>.

6) Customize to your heart's content...
