First question I have is Is anyone having a iPage web hosted by ? Is the service good, fair or r Thanks for any response. 2nd question I got is.. I see the OS commerce info pages have a thing they call a “most requested” box … my guess it’s an adapted version of the best sellers box, but it’s based on viewed products instead of sold products..

I have been unable to find a post relating to this subject if someone could point me in the right direction or show me how this is accomplished it would be great..

Thanks in advance..

Yes sir! but you might wanna make sure and wait for another person to confirm this as I am not quite sure. Better yet, why don't you call the iPage guys because they can give you help better...

It doesn't sound like it would be difficult to do. You hit the nail on the head when you suggested altering the bestsellers box. I would take the best sellers box, and alter the query that returns the product list, and change it to return them based on the number of times viewed..

It should be pretty straight forward...

UM .... thats my problem I dont know how to do that..

Here's a starting point. Found 3 contributions that might work, but haven't seen a particular need for them..

Right, that's why I was trying to point you in the right direction..

Take the best sellers box, find the SQL in that module, and alter it so that it returns the products filtered and sorted the way you want them. If you look in the products_description table, I think there is a products_viewed column. I'm sure the query already joins to the products description table, so it would just be a matter of adding that column to the select clause, and altering your where clause appropriately to return only products you want, and then sort it by the products viewed column in decending order...

Ok so I followed the instructions to the letter and now I get this error can anyone help ? .

1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax near 'MAX_DISPLAY_MOST_POPULAR' at line 1.

Select p.products_id, sum(pd.products_viewed) as quantitysum, pd.products_name, pd.products_description from products p, products_description pd where pd.products_id = p.products_id and pd.language_id = '1' group by pd.products_id order by quantitysum DESC, pd.products_name limit MAX_DISPLAY_MOST_POPULAR.

[TEP STOP].

What do I do to fix this?..

Actually I see it called a Most Popular list and a few other names... I would really like to do this same thing. To show what are the most viewed products on my site.....
