First off, Is anyone having trouble with 123 reg right now, I can't log into my email account.? Many thanks for any answer or 2. Second question of mine... I did some research on my site regarding traffic results, overall visits to my site I guess. The site I used to determine this was.

Now I'm wondering what this is really saying and how good it actually is..

This is the info on my site,.

Please if you know anything about what this means or suggests it would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks,.

Did you get the t-shirt?.

What do you want us to say? I'm not an expert at reading that page but it looks to me like your traffic has increased 600% in the last 3 months and you have 5 Alexa backlinks to your site. I think you would be better off looking at.

Which gives you much more info...

Alexa is tricky... it's something you have to take with a grain of salt. Does it give you valueable information? Eh.... so/so.

The truth is, unless all traffic info is reported, Alexa is basically guessing. It is nice in terms of generalities, because it can give you an idea if your actually seeing traffic and how you fair compared to the greater web..

IE - NameBio.com is ranked 185,000 (approximately) - Weve noticed that each month as our site gets more and more visitors, our ranking does go up. And weve also noticed Alexa does note when traffic drops off. However, weve also noticed that Alexa tends exagerate drops and rises. It shows a huge traffic spike earlier this year, but in truth, wasnt nearly as big as one we had earlier this month.....

So like I said - Take it with a huge grain of salt and more as a general rule..

Is 1 million good? Eh... it means your getting a bit of traffic... but by no means should it be used other then to tell you that...

Alexa tracks hits only from PCs that have the Alexa files in them (some refer to them as spyware) ... they are inside IE when it is installed (at least IE 4 , 5 and 6 ... don't know about 7) ... you can extract the files by using a free antispyware like.

AdAware.

(246,697,421 downloads).

Therefore , Alexa results are influenced by the amount of people that have those files on their PCs ... the amount of people that have extracted them (usually computer-savvy people) ... and possibly the amount of people using different browsers that might not have those files pre-installed ... therefore the totals and percentages can deviate greatly from the actual figures ....

Nonetheless , you can get some info from Alexa especially for high-ranked sites (eg. the top 500 , or the top 500 per country) or other sites in general (esp. ranked <1,000,000) taking into consideration the information about which PCs are being tracked (described above) ... for your own site(s) , it is better that you monitor your own stats (tracker , hosting stats , etc) to get a better idea of the visitors and traffic .....
