Is iPage the best site to register and start a web site?

My 1st question is: Is iPage the best site to register and start a web site? Thanks in advance for any response. Second question.. I tried changing the footer that says #requests since June, 2003 and it's pretty good except for the word array before my new date. Any idea why that's there?? Here's the clip of code where I changed the info:.

Require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES'counter.php');.

?>.

<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="1">.

 <tr class="footer">.

   <td class="footer">&nbsp;&nbsp;<?php echo strftime(DATE_FORMAT_LONG); ?>&nbsp;&nbsp;</td>.

   <td align="right" class="footer">&nbsp;&nbsp;<?php echo $counter_now' 'FOOTER_TEXT_REQUESTS_SINCE' '.

$counter;?>March 2004</td>.

 </tr>.

</table>..

Yes sir! although you might wanna make sure and wait for another commenter to confirm my answer as I am unsure of myself. Better yet, why don't you give a call to the iPage guys because they can give you help better...

Hi,.

The reason it is not displaying correctly is because you have hard coded the date into the PHP code, rather than:.

[quote}..just modify the column called 'startdate' in this table called 'counter'.[/quote].

Use phpMyAdin to alter the date..

I don't use phpmyadmin, but I went in and looked. I see 'counter' but I don't know what to change...

Hi,.

Where you see 'counter' that is probably the table name. Click on _that_ table name, then change the column 'startdate' to the value you want..

Hi,.

As the last line in /includes/counter.php is.

 $counter_startdate_formatted = strftime(DATE_FORMAT_LONG, mktime(0, 0, 0, substr($counter_startdate, 4, 2), substr($counter_startdate, -2), substr($counter_startdate, 0, 4)));.

... and lines 13 to 19 of /includes/footer.php is.

 require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES'counter.php');.

?>.

<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="1">.

 <tr class="footer">.

   <td class="footer">&nbsp;&nbsp;<?php echo strftime(DATE_FORMAT_LONG); ?>&nbsp;&nbsp;</td>.

   <td align="right" class="footer">&nbsp;&nbsp;<?php echo $counter_now' 'FOOTER_TEXT_REQUESTS_SINCE' '$counter_startdate_formatted; ?>&nbsp;&nbsp;</td>.

 </tr>.

And your iPage website is currently showing:.

The problem would appear to be caused because you have hard coded the 'start date', when in fact (I _think_, because I haven't modified it), all you needed to do was modify the 'start date' in the database.

Here is the line of code that does the sql qry:.

 $counter_query = tep_db_query("select startdate, counter from "TABLE_COUNTER);.

In the sql load for the osC tables, the following:.

123  DROP TABLE IF EXISTS counter;.

124  CREATE TABLE counter (.

125    startdate char(8),.

126    counter int(12).

.. so I assume you can just modify the column called 'startdate' in this table called 'counter'..

All things being equal This should work..
