Medifast is a wonderful program with many different types of support and a fabulous community. We understand that everyone is an adult and this is not a "mean" group. For some of us, we thrive on this program if we have a place where we are held accountable, where we commit to the program 100% and where we have a place to chat with others who feel the same..

What we believe:.

1. Cheating on Medifast is NOT a strategy to get us out of our fat suits.

2. The only way for us to learn about our problems with food is to take the word "choice" out of the equation when it comes to Medifast. Our only "choice" is 5 packets and 1 weighed and measured lean and green a day.

3. We look to those who have been successful with this strategy to continuously remind us about why this way, for us, is the way to go.

4. We believe that, even though we are completely committed, knowing that we have a group that holds us accountable for our actions is both useful and important.

We commit to:.

1. Remove the word "choice" from our vocabularies.

2. Follow the Medifast plan as written, including transition and maintenance.

3. Tell our "inner brat" to shut the H-E-** up and quiet him or her through abstenance from off plan foods.

4. Give and receive tough love without complaining or calling each other "mean".

5. Cheerlead fellow group members as they follow the path to thinness.

6. Make Medifast the LAST diet we ever go on.

7. Check in with the group as often as our schedule reasonably allows.

8. Be honest with ourselves and our Medifast family and to stay 100% OP at all times. We also swear that WHEN (not if) we are having a tough time and feel like we may eat SLUDGE, to come to our Medifast family first and ask for support and help to get us through the struggle..

Good morning all, I'm enjoying my first cup of coffee and a delish bowl of oatmeal. I think I may be one of the few that like it. I don't put anything in it but water, which I don't measure. Sometimes, I think I could eat it several times per day, but we all know the after effects of the oatmeal..

I'm hanging tough here in boot camp, and I'm definitely feeling better. It's amazing how much more positive I am when I am in control of my food addiction. The feeling far exceeds the enjoyment of sludge, so why did I go back to sludge during maintenance? When that question is answered, I will be on my way to a future of thinness..

Has anyone watched the show Heavy on A&E? If so, has it seemed odd to you that they never try to treat the food addiction? It is discussed, but no tools are discussed on how to deal with it. Maybe they do "off air". I don't know, just makes me wonder why some people assume that all overweight people need is nutrition training and a workout routine. It isn't that easy...

Anna-awesome! So glad you finally have a day! Now it will be the longest 2 1/2 days of your life but so worth it! Give your man a hug from all of us too for defending our country!.

Della-I always wondered that too. The real problem with food addiction is the why. I finally, after many different diets, realized I am a stress eater (you know, the screw it I deserve this sludge after having such a horrible day) and I am also a boredom eater. The stress I can deal with, the boredom is a little more difficult at times. I also have issues with not eating all day at work and then gorging when I get home. Medifast has helped A LOT with that.



Dock diving in 2 short weeks! Woot woot!.

Good morning all!.

Thanks to those of you that gave me your recommendations on the smooth move tea..

I didn't drink another cup. Nothing has happened yet, but I will wait until noon when it's been 24 hours before I drink another cup. I thought I let it steep for 10-15 minutes, but I didn't actually time it so this time I will time it..

Now to get ready for church....

Anna! I'm so happy you are going to be seeing hubby in a few short days. Is he home for good now or does he have to go back?..

Dinner was delish, too. Good thing I had salad at lunch as most of the roasted vegetables, the only OP choice, were sludge veggies...some of my faves, too. Time for those in transition.....

Della - My bet is that since this is a TV program, people son't want to see the reality of these people's every day lives. It would hit way too close to home to a lot of people to talk about food addiction, not to mention the fact that it would me boring for those who don't understand, and they only have a certain time limit. I would place bets that it's dealt with behind the scenes..

Kawai, I have never heard that the oatmeal does anything, and I've been around a while. The crunch bars are the only thing I've ever heard of that had unpleasant after affects if too many are eaten because of the Malitol they contain..

Raining here today. Love it! It's bee so dry, we need all the help we can get..

, his deployment is over but he lives in California and we live in NC so he'll be leaving us again on the 11th. We will be moving out there once the school year is over. If he gets sent to where he is supposed to he will deploy again in January but that can definitely change...

Morning Everyone. Had my coffee and pancake and am good to go. Was down to 240.2 this morning so another .9 down. I'm just riding the razor's edge of the 230's. I have to fly on Tuesday, and have accepted a middle seat in order to sit next to one of my board members. The last time I flew I was just praying I could get the seatbelt closed without having to use an extender (it did!).

No dobut there will still be thigh creep but I just think mentally it would be nice to go into the seat knowing I am in the 230's..

Anna - Wow! At last the answers you've been waiting for. Are you going to be able to selep between now and then?.

Kawi - I wanted to say last night that I really empathize with you about your DH bringing home wine. In my first two weeks, my DH sent me to fast food places to pick up food for him - TWICE! And the second time was even after I told him how completely ridiculous it was (after the first time) since I was doing MF, and just the smell alone was tough to tolerate. The thing is, my DH is completely lean and healthy, and almost NEVER eats SLUDGE of any kind. But in both of these instances he was working hard around the house (like taking down Christmas lights, etc.). So he just wanted food of any kind, fast. And I wanted to get him some food, fast.

I only cook about once a month and on holidays. Anyway, I swear I don't think he did it intentionally, and yet, it felt like he was testing me. Can't explain it, or your DH's actions either. But GOOD JOB on standing your ground..

Della - so glad you're in the Medifast groove again. Doesn't it feel amazing? Keeping that feeling, that confidence, going in maintenance is of concern to me, so I'm looking forward to learning more as you learn more about yourself through this. It has been a relatively simple "mantra" of mine, that the only way we can learn to live through life's circumstances without food, is to live through life's circumstances without food. The veterans here taught me that. It helps to keep me on track anytime I have one of those life circumstances come up. But honestly, that's much easier to do on 5&1 than I think it will be in maintenance, unless I'm planning my meals for the rest of my life.

Good morning all! Thanks for the coffee. Last day for Willy Wonka. Lots of work for just three shows. Tomorrow my life will be all mine again.....well as much as it can be! Last night when we revealed the chocolate room, all of the audience gasped. Now as theater person that's a good thing. As an overeater, I'm not so sure.

But, the challenge of building a set based on candy and having none of it be real was great!.

Della, I love the oatmeal, too. Especially the blueberry one. Occasionally Ill add a little nutmeg to that one. Yum. I agree that feeling of being in control is the best. Going to bed at night knowing Ive won the battle for another day.

I think it sends a very unhealthy message, especially to the young people it's aimed toward. If they beat their addictions, they dont have a show. I think lots of people want to see others practicing those bad behaviors on TV so they can justify it in their own lives..

Tara, are your dogs on any of the televised dock diving events? Theyre so fun to watch..

Jan, we got more snow, too. This is the snowiest February I can remember. Weve gotten more than the YEARLY average just this month alone. And, nope, it's not me thats dressed. Sweatshirt and yoga pants for me this morning! Oh, and big leopard-print slipper boots! How did your earrings come out? I made a beautiful blueberry agate and copper pendant and earrings set already this morning. I also discovered a very cool wrapping technique with some colorful wire I have..

Della.....just saying I like the oatmeal and still eat it almost every day for breakfast. Although those chocolate chip Medifast pancakes have found a way into my morning breakfast rotation..

I will always be an overeater. I will always want to eat sludge. I will always fight this fight. One thing I've learned from staying 100% OP and making goal is that there is a wonderful feeling to being healthy. Once you are in control of food and your health, it far outweighs the lies I told myself when I was obese. It is so nice not to lie about my emotions, weight, and size anymore!..

Hubby apologized and promised not to do it again. I didn't mind the Friday night thing. Having 1 or 2 beers after the kids go to bed was just something we've done on Friday nights for years. I was OK with him having that while I had a diet 7-up, but last night he crossed that line...

I really do add 3 cups + to my oatemal and drink it through a traw, It is once of the foods, that no matter this dilution, stick to y ribs and stays with we loner than others. I really enjoy it. In fact my next order, which I'be postposned unti Jun i, 2011, whiil ahve only ther Vanilla Shakes 70 asnd loys of oatmeal. I have it once per day n ow, but may move that up. I lofve the Maple when I need my pancake fix. I don't order brownies or pancakes since those are still trigger food caetgories for me..

I reall stared Transition quite a while ago. now. It just slipped is as I staed OP but need the extra protein everyday. I but Fage greek yougurt and have it with fresh backberried. I also add fresh blueberries which, right now are too tart to eat, but perfect cooked in twith the oatemeals sweetness..

So I am on Transition with dairy and 2 fruits in alread. I will not try bananas or anything else until much later. Blasckberries and blueberries are both the lowest in sugar and very high in fiber. I'll stick with those..

I even order some blueberry and balckberry cane to plant this Spring. I did that, yes, I did that. I was not onoy a gournet cook but an avid gardener..

Have any of you tried the earth boxes? Check with Amazon.com or Earthbox. xom. There are senational..

Anne, when you move your bodys would love to see the great results from earth boxes. Penny, you and you DD too. Kids will love these. The can plant and reap and then cook something healthy too..

I find they spoil very quickly (1-2 days), so I only traveled with bars/puffs/pretzels after losing 2 meals to spoilage during a business trip...

Afternoon all! I'm starting to feel like I'm back into the 100% on plan groove, and I'm hoping that within the week I'll be back down to the weight I was before the sludge escapades of this month. If that happensI may be under 200 by the end of March, and thinking about that leads me to wonder if I might do a hide-the-scale month..

Last night when I came home from work, I felt like a veritable zombie. I stayed up and read and Internetted for a few hours, then went to bed at midnight. I slept right on through my alarms for church at 8, and didn't really get up until about noon. I went straight to my L&G meal in the refrigeratorand I could just barely finish it. Yes, 7 ounces IS a LOT of fish. Whew!.

(Only on Medifast do people probably not flinch to read about someone breaking their fast with tiliapia...).

Mine knows that there is only a certain amount of carbohydrate I can have per day, and that if I exceed that limit then Bad Things Will Happen. Yesterday I was doing lots of beadwork and wire work and some of it was while I was sitting ont he couch. I took a break to have my afternoon meal - Chili Nacho Cheese Puffs - and then I got back to work. About 45 minutes later, I packed my supplies up into my boxes and something poked me in the back of my leg. I reached down between the couch cushions, carefully, thinking I'd get stabbed by a piece of wire. Nothing there. So I slid my hand under my leg and found....

A Chili Nacho Cheese Puff!!.

I was so happy, I screeched a happy "WOOT!!" and crunched my bonus snack loudly and proudly! By then, my husband was cracking up - he totally gets me...

- LOL!! Good thing it didn't get crushed in the couch cushions...those crumbs get too mixed up with couch sludge to be OP.

You've gotta get going on getting your Skype working...I want to see more of your creations and especially want to see/learn some of your wrapping techniques. I've recently ventured into more wire work rather than straight beading. My earrings turned out nice (they have sparkles.

), but they're simple beads & bought earwires. Ended up wearing another pair I made cuz I didn't like the way the top looked - different top, different earrings..

I've gotta go brave the out-of-doors, then onto the treadmill. We're in desperate need of salad fixings. I.

Ha ha - Jan, I love my beads, but wire is so much fun. So many different looks you can get with a simple twist of technique (pun intended)..

Thanks MT. That's what I feared - spoilage. But hey - it was a good idea. The room will have a mini-fridge, so I was hopeful that if I could keep them refrigerated, I might have a shot. Bars and puffs and shakes will work just fine...

Still working on photographing my stuff. Hubby just dug out my tripod and I'm gonna get back after it as soon as the little one goes to bed..

I had a yummy ahi tuna steak on a salad tonight. Love me some seared ahi the night before weigh-in! I'm ready to float away, too! ALL CLEAR here! Usually before noon..

I have one more meal tonight and I think it's gonna be a chocolate chip pancake. I can almost taste it now!..

I keep wondering why I torture myself with this hobby.

I have carpal tunnel and arthritis, no feeling in my fingertips and bad eyes. Not exactly fit for small hand work...

I'm back after a long day of "stuff". Dad's cat is pretty sick on and off, I scheduled a veterinary cardiologist appointment for her tomorrow. I wished he lived closer (he's 2 hours away) so I could help a little better. The cat and I are really all the family he has..

Dock diving is when a dog runs full throttle down a 40 foot dock after a chase toy into a pool of water. They measure the jump by where the base of the tail breaks the water, but to make the numbers even bigger some of the televised competitions measure to the nose..

Penny-we've been on tv, mostly local but once last year nationally. The competition in 2 weeks is a small one, indoors, at the Harrsiburg Farm Show complex. There's also a pet expo there that weekend..

Thanks YiaYia! I think I'm going to take some of each and put them in the fridge with high hopes. However, I will also bring plenty of puffs, bars, and shakes to be sure I have enough food if the bread and cookies go bad. Worst case scenario, I lose some food. Hmm, this makes me think I could take some shake cakes too. Sounds like I'll be baking tomorrow night before I leave Tuesday morning..
