Yup, but... you might wanna make sure and wait for another member to confirm this as I am not sure. Better yet, why don't you e-mail the iPage guys because they can help better...
Things have been corrected! IPower is our host, and I've noticed that quite a few of you who have had this problem were also hosted by IPower. So, the bit of history is that they had moved some IP addresses around, our host was affected. I don't know the exact change that caused (or solved) the problem, but I have saved the server info page so that I know what settings now work..
So, when this comes up again, and I'm sure it will, I'd be happy to walk through the php settings etc with anyone whos suffering..
I have been having a simular issue. However my issue is that when the customers select UPS Shipping and click continue, nothing happens, It will not go to the next part of the checkout. I have currently disableded UPS shipping on the iPage site and only have FedEx being offered however I need to put UPS out there as the packages are going UPS. If you have any input that would be great...
It is Sep 8th at 3:10 EST. I use IPowerWeb as well and I have been pulling my hair out for the past two days trying to figure out what was wrong with my website. I could not checkout. I finally disabled UPS in my shipping modules and it works fine. Now, I see you say they fixed it but after I read your post, I re-installed UPS and it still does not work. Any suggestions??? HELP!!.
I am having the same problem....I posted a forum post here:.
I did a search before I posted but must have not read them throughly enough. I cannot checkout nor can anyone else....everything was working fine until Wednesday. Select Checkout and nothing happens.......
The two issues that have been acknowledged by the IPower support team are:.
1. hung process(es) which were preventing php fsockopen() from success (see email transcript below)..
2. Invalid memory settings which prevented fsockopen() from succeeding..
Although there has been some negative press for IPower - I've found they've been great. This problem lasted 24 hrs - and that's about 24 times longer than any other to get a resolution. All in all, the most important item when contacting their web support is to have done your homework. They _are_ supporting a _large_ population, and many are not saavy - so, unless you can prove your point, you may get the "is you computer plugged in?" line of responses..
Here's a transcript of the emails back and forth regarding the resolution to my problem:.

Thank you for contacting iPowerWeb Technical Support..
Unfortunately, we don't have any detailed desciption of what was causing the problem with php functions hanging, but I would assume it was a load issue in MySQL or in general on the server that started the issue. While this can be one of the pitfalls of shared hosting, our system admin team has been doing thewir best to stay on top of surges..

Thanks, the problem was resolved. The explanation is a bit incomplete, and.
I would appreciate a specific indication of whether it was a memory setting,.
Or what processes were problematic (this occurs more frequently than any of.
Us would like), and any information would help in assist next time it.
Again, thanks & cheers,.

Thank you for contacting iPowerWeb Technical Support. There was a server issue which caused the webserver task to need to be restarted to clear out a few hung processes which were causing certain php functions to misbehave. Please let us know if you have any further questions..
Good luck & cheers,.
I asked them for help on the 14th and by the 15th when I arrived at work they had resolved the issue. They told me basically the same thing they told you. It appears it was several servers that were affected, that is why some of us got the problem fixed earlier and others were still affected. Now I know what to expect, if it happens again, I saved all the emails so I can get their attention quick (iPowerWeb)..
Thanks for your help Mark..
We've just found that the UPS Shipping module seems to have broken - does anyone else have any knowledge of this? The error on checkout_shipping.php is:.
Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to www.ups.com:80 in home/catalog/includes/classes/http_client.php on line 330.
Thanks & cheers,.
Well, a bit more information. My service provider has done some bouncing around of things - we haven't put our finger on what changed and is causing the problems, but we're stilll fighting through it. Also, UPS has been helpful as well. Here's a little information that they provide as a checklist of items to check. Hope this helps. I've seen this error all over the forums, but no one has posted the complete solution.
