Yup, but... you might wanna make sure and wait for another commenter to confirm it as I am not quite sure. Better yet, why don't you ask the iPage guys because they can answer your iPage question better...
I have tried this and:.
1. All my items are still set to nontaxable..
2. When I add new products, nontaxable is still the default..
What am I doing wrong? My tax class works on the 300 items I have set up since I got the tax thing figured out (I only charge tax in Texas), but I have about 1000 items that are still set to nontaxable and I'd like to mass change them thru SQL..
Any other ideas out there?..
The command given to you will work from phpmyadmin,.
Update products set products_tax_class_id=1.
You need to connect to the database, then select SQL and paste the sql statement in the box then click on 'go'..
But I *have* done that in phpmyadmin..
Items are still set to non taxable...
If you want, I can do it for you. or if you want to watch while I do it, go download realvnc and install the server, set a password and then email me the ip address and password, then you can watch how it is done via remote access, where I am tied into your system..
Thanks for the offer, it may come to that but I hope not..
Is there something I could be missing that's obvious to someone else?.
I have applied the SQL code successfully but it didn't change my products to taxable..
Maybe my tax class should be set to 0 or something?.
Grasping a little bit here, it's late..
Off to bed. Hope someone can help me sort this out..
Is there a way to set the "taxable Goods" drop down in the admin, to always show "taxable goods".
You can do this in phpmyadmin. Select the products table, edit the products_tax_class_id and change the default field from "0" to "1" if taxable goods is the only tax class you have..
If your existing products are set to "0", update them with this sql command:.
Update products set products_tax_class_id=1..
