First off, Medifast Diet....Whos Tried it With Success? Thanks in advance for any comment. Second question.. Other topics will be discussed that may not be appropriate for the easily offended..

Please discontinue reading Tough Love threads if they are going to cause you to become upset..

Medifast is a wonderful program with many different types of support and a fabulous community. We understand that everyone is an adult and this is not a "mean" group. For some of us, we thrive on this program if we have a place where we are held accountable, where we commit to the program 100% and where we have a place to chat with others who feel the same..

What we believe:.

1. Cheating on Medifast is NOT a strategy to get us out of our fat suits.

2. The only way for us to learn about our problems with food is to take the word "choice" out of the equation when it comes to Medifast. Our only "choice" is 5 packets and 1 weighed and measured lean and green a day.

3. We look to those who have been successful with this strategy to continuously remind us about why this way, for us, is the way to go.

4. We believe that, even though we are completely committed, knowing that we have a group that holds us accountable for our actions is both useful and important.

We commit to:.

1. Remove the word "choice" from our vocabularies.

2. Follow the Medifast plan as written, including transition and maintenance.

3. Tell our "inner brat" to shut the H-E-** up and quiet him or her through abstenance from off plan foods.

4. Give and receive tough love without complaining or calling each other "mean".

5. Cheerlead fellow group members as they follow the path to thinness.

6. Make Medifast the LAST diet we ever go on.

7. Check in with the group as often as our schedule reasonably allows.

Getting the banner:.

1. Copy the following text using your favorite method:.

2. Click on the "Edit Profile/Settings" link at the top of this page.

3. Click on the "Edit Signature" link on the left of the page.

4. Place your cursor in the "Edit Signature" area (looks like a mini version of Microsoft Word) and paste the text you copied using your favorite method.

5. Remove the two asterisks (*) from the text you just pasted.

6. Click "preview signature". You should now see the banner in the Preview area (above where you are editing)!!!.

7. Click the "Save Signature" button. If you do not, all this will have been for naught! So make SURE you save this after you are all set!.

Anyone can start the thread. If youre the first one here in the morning, copy this opening post and create a post for the new day. Anyone is welcome to join, and if folks have additional ideas on how we can commit, we are happy to hear them!..

Good question... I dunno what is the answer to that question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I discover an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could answer your Medifast question..

Up and at it. Hopefully, today is more sane than the last two!.

Drinking coffee. Meal one is a bit different for me: mango soft serve mixed with diet pomegranate. Hmmmmmm....hope it is a good flavor mix!..

Morning MT and CG..

Just finished coffee and am packing the space food for the trip to Indy.....brrrr although not as bad as the poor folks in the Northeast. Now I know why my husband thinks I'm NUTS when I say I want to move back up there..

Wish me luck Thursday and Friday. I'm hoping I can keep OP at this event. I've got bars pack so if nothing else I'll squirrel them all away in my pants pockets..

Might look a bit funny but I'm not there to impress anyone..

TL mojo to those who need it!..

You can do it!!! Stay warm.

Morning MT and CG!.

I am up and awake, have my gym clothes on so I can and will go straight to Curves as soon as my kids are at school. Have a Skype date with my dh at 10 am, then I'm not sure what I'll do..

Have a good one. I've go to make sure I am not drinking while reading this thread!..

Medifast mojo for you Karen-stick to what you know. you can do it.....

Morning MT and CG..........Just having my second cup of coffee-forgot to put the recycling out last night so had to run out early to beat the pick up. Had a ton since we are emptying closets and cupboards as we clean and paint to sell..

Anna-enjoy the date with the hubs.......I am thinking about curves again. IDK. I have my gym clothes ready to so I can meet DD at school between classes and go to the gym..

Morning TLers! Not much happening in this head o mine this morningg yet, but I've had one cup of Komodo Dragon and I mixed my Medifast pudding with some more of it, and some ice, in the Ninja so I should be waking up soon! More like soft serve than soft serve..

(singing) Today is the day that I'm going to book my cruuuuuise!..

Morning TL'ers! I didnt' get to read any of the posts past about this time yesterday morning so I'm sure I've missed a ton..

But I had to come this morning to say I made it to 259.3 this morning!!!! I'm in the 250's and have met my first goal to be in this decade by my flight on Friday. I won't know until I get on the plane but I truly believe I will be able to use the seatbelt without an extender. I am SOOOOOO excited..

And I might add that this progress is in spite of two public presentations and a live television news interview last night. Not only did I not eat over it - I wasn't even tempted. And I felt so much more confident in these situations because my weight is down and I feel more "awake" and connected..

I know my banner says it, but 100% Works!!.

Anna - enjoy your Skype date with the hubby! Can he see your weight loss on camera?.

Thanks everyone for your support. I don't think I could do it without you..

Have a Happy Healthy OP Day!..

Congrats on the new decade, TKD! That's exciting news!..

Interesting combo for sure. I'm sitting here with my coffee/cappuccino. I got my airline confirmations and itinerary for.

Cruise yesterday.

So I know the feeling..

It's feeling more real now - we booked last April and we're going in May - can't wait!!.

Gonna be late for werk cuz I overslept - haven't caught up yet....maybe a few more posts before I leave...or just keep my mouth shut..

Morning, Jan! Yep, I'm walking on air today. Booking the cruise and the Komodo Dragon is kicking in! I'm so motivated to look great in the cute swimsuits I ordered! I told Marc I had to go and check on an idea for Valentine's Day - partly true. I may break the news on Valentine's day....

Off to save the world! See you kids at the office!..

Good morning, kids! Good to see the TLers up and at 'em..

Great workout this morning. I ran a series of half miles at what is supposed to predict my marathon pace. Blech - much slower than I hoped, but better than last year. It gives me something to work at. I enjoyed my "speed" work, although my "speed" is pretty much anyone else's jog......

Well done, TKD! Congrats on your new decade! Morning All! It's a great day here in the sunshine state! For me, it's down 2 more lbs! I'm happy. Everyopne have a wonderful OP day!..

Brrr, chilly in the house. Sipping coffee, getting ready for Chalean. Bit of a slow start this morning..

I love checking in with this thread from my phone during the day! You all really give me a lift!..

Just started on my coffee so not all pistons firing in my brain yet. Penny, I was doing great, thinking about celebrating our anniversary with Chatty and her hubby, then you go and mention your cruise. Now I'm depressed, because I SHOULD have been packing for my own which was to leave on Sunday. Fine! I'm going to go find a corner to pout in for a while. <sniff>.

TKD - WTG on the new decade!!.

Karen - It's not a matter of CAN do it, it's just a matter of WILL do it! I have faith that you will, so I'm not worried..

Morning to everyone else. bbl..

Morning TLer's..

I'm waiting for my coffee to be done. Coffee and hot cocoa for me this morning. I need the extra boost to get ready for work. I'm not a fan of getting up at 5:30 am to get ready for work. Blech..

Congrats to the losers. Great job and keep it up..

Penny - I hope your coffee helped and the cruise booking. Where did you order your bathing suit from? I need to get one for Maui in May. A bathing suit... mmmm... what does a non-fat 49 year old wear?.

Okay, no more goofing off. Things to do, places to go, bosses to ignore. It's another full day in sunny So Cal....

Cheri - Where in So. Cal are you? Grew up in Buena Park and my mom lives in Seal Beach..

Exciting!!! We just got our cruise documents the other day... getting closer everyday! We are also going on another cruise in January to the caribbean! Whoop Whoop!..

NICE! Congrats on breaking into the 250's! on your way to a wonderful flight on Friday!!!..

Congrats on getting into a new decade!! Luckily my webc cam is horrible so no and he only sees my face anyway..

Great job, Nan and TKD. You might be the only thing melting away in this weather!.

That combo (mango soft serve and diet pomegranate soda) was actually quite good! Yum..

We are hoping to avoid another snow day here. I have not been able to run outdoors in over a month....the roads and sidewalks are too icy...

Arrgh! I posted on yesterday's page this morning..... then realized it was yestedays...!.

Penny and Mia - my wife on Medifast also, keeps trying on 6s and then I bring her a 4! she can't believe it yet....

I love this group. What a great way to start the day... but I am not going to put my keyboard in the dishwasher... it's a Laptop!!.

Had a great OP day yesterday.... Here comes another one!..

Congratulations TDK!.

Caliborne, your husband is in the military (hope my memory is correct), please tell him 'thank you' from me. Also, my thanks to you, military families sacrifice a lot, so our country can be protected..

Happy for those who are heading on cruises, meeting friends for visits, losing pounds......

Scale shows I'm down 2# so that is starting my day out with a little extra smile and happy hop in my step..

Hello to all!..

Congratulations on all the weight loss milestones and continuing success OP..

Anna, enjoy your skype with DH. I know you will, but I wish your family the very best and thank each one of you for your service..

Theo, enjoy the day OP. I'm glad you and your wife are both OP..

Thank you all for your posting, however brief. I am just beginning to get acquainted with some of you successful veterans and others who are just successful..

(I hope that's ALL of us). Thanks for the inspiration and support..

I will weigh-in next Monday after my allergy ordeal I'm getting very curious..

For extra nutrition information I joined It shows me how many calories I have left for the day if I want to lose a certain amount per week. Also my estimated goal arrival date if I continue as I am doing. Since nothing in my life has ever been predictable, this is nice. I think I'll get a crystal ball too..

Since it's just me, my bed, my computer, and TV 24/7 the variety helps me..

Anything novel helps me. I ordered a bunch of books on yesterday because they were on sale and the 1st in their series..

If any of you book lovers also like funny vampires, Molly Harper's lead character/librarian is the Lucille Ball of vampires. Very funny. Yes, I read a lot..

Stay warm and OP everyone..

Morning all!.

Dude (my scale) is still down! Yesterday was the first day of eating everything OP since Thursday. I hate being sick but hey if it's going to help me loss weight I don't mind a bit..

Cali- I ordered GS cookies for the troops over seas. Maybe your hubbie will be lucky to get some..

So jealous! Everyone is going on a cruise! Medifast is my Cruise. I like it.

Starting to warm up in Upstate NY WooHooo! 22*..

Good Morning Everyone! Just got my coffee so I'm trying to wake up as well. Cruise? Sounds like a bunch of you have cruises coming up. So do I. I booked mine on Monday. I'm taking a cruise to Alaska in June. My first one..

Karon, remember with the right attitude we can do anything..

TKD, congrats on the loss and the new decade. And to Talien too. I have my weigh in this morning when I get to work. I organized our annual biggest loser and we start today..

I feel lucky I guess that it's a warm 38 degrees right now and may even get up to the 50's. And sun breaks too..

I'm confused (which happens a lot these days)..

What is the Chalean? A marathon of some sort?.

It feels great this morning that I was able to go out to dinner and stay on plan. Just ordered what I wanted, how I wanted and had a fabulous on plan meal. I still have the cravings but I made it without any extra's..

I need to go get another cup of coffee and get ready for work. It's going to be a tough one again. While everyone is saying they wish it was Friday, I'm saying I wish it was Monday. I have so much that I have to get done before the end of the month that I'm really stressing whether I can accomplish that or not. But then again, I have to so just have to buckle down and get it done. My i-pod is my new best friend at work.

Have a splendid day everyone. Stay warm wherever you might be..

I'm in Torrance! When are you going to be in So Cal again?..

Mel, Chalean Extreme is an exercise program on dvd by Beachbody (the folks that bring us P90X). It is a strength training + cardio program: strength 3x a week and cardio 2x. One of the great things for Medifast is that none of the workouts exceed 45 minutes. I've been doing it since April of last year, with a few breaks. Her workouts go in 4 week cycles, then you switch it up, and within the 5 workout week nothing is repeated, so I don't get bored..

I love it!!..

June for sure. I may try to get down and see my mom sometime before then though...

Steph, congrats on improving your speed!.

Nan, 2 pounds is 8 sticks of butter, baby! Nice job!.

Lynne, I give you lots of credit for being able to work out at home. I cant get motivated enough at home..

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY DE & MR. DE!! Im happiest about the sunshine Ill be enjoying on my cruise youve still got plenty of that! So chin up, cupcake! (mmmm cupcakes).

Cheri, I ordered my bathing suits from Newport News. Three tops and two bottoms for less than $40..

Anne, yes, thank your hubby from me and my family, too..

CG, Mango and diet Pom sounds delicious. I just had a strawberry shake with Lipton diet green tea and a 5-hour Energy. Yuh-HUM..

Theo, it's surreal, especially when pulling them out of the dryer and they look like little miniature clothes! I cant wait to get back down there again! Should be around the beginning of May just in time for all the cute spring dresses!.

Talien, nice job on the 8 sticks of butter you lost, too!.

Beth, Ive been using MyFitnessPal dot com to track my menu. Most Medifast meals are already in their database and you can customize your nutrition goals. Some others wont let you track your goals with less than a minimum number of calories. This one lets me work with the numbers Medifast provides. It also lets me know where Ill be in 5 weeks if I behave myself. Cant quite get into the vampire thing.

Mia, glad youre feeling better, neighbor! I remember saying I was one good stomach bug away from goal! Yes, wasnt it nice to not be in the single digits this morning? I so hate being all bundled up when Im driving. I wore a lightweight cape today. Yes, I DO have a cape, kids..

Mel, blending ice with Medifast pudding in a Ninja is a thick, creamy, frozen treat, more like soft serve than Medifast soft serve. Ooooh, a cruise to Alaska sounds great. Maybe someday. But considering Im on the east coast, it's just a dream for now..

And that's my version of chopped tofu! Holy cah-RAP! You guys are chatty!..

I love Newport News and the sizes actually fit women not just made for the stick teeney bopper..

Penny - I'll have to look at Newport News for a bathing suit. I don't want to look like I'm used to being fat and cover up completely, but I don't want to show too much. Such a fine line. I'm thinking tankini and a sarong..

De - I'm in the Inland Empire. Upland to be exact (by Ontario)..

I dropped my 4 year old off at daycare this morning and all the little girls told me how pretty I look today. One asked me where I shop so she can tell her mommy. LOL. I love the adoration of 4 year olds. No, really I do. So sad.

And of course my little son was just loving it. He said I look beautiful. He's such a kiss up. Good boy..

My husband said I look hot this morning. I love that adoration even more!.

On my lunch break today I am venturing off to find silken tofu...

2.1 pounds down this week.

This 100% on plan thing works...

Chopped broccoli alert! Somebody gimme a fork! I swear this woman would pull the wings off butterflies and then yell at them for just sitting there!..

Just checked out Newport News. They have a lot of cute suits on sale. I see some shopping in my near future!.

Sassy - you're going to Maui in February? I'm going in May. Where are you going? We're going to Wilea (sp?). I can't wait...

Just another FUN way to approach this plan. Where else can you feel good about having soft serve for breakfast? And still fell satiated!!!..

I will pass on all the thank you's to my dh, thanks!.

He just threw me a loop, he may come home and take his leave in early March, which means I only have 5 weeks left to wow him.

You all talked a lot in the last 90 minutes..

Ok two things jumped out at me here..

ONE. Of course you WILL stay OnPlan..

TWO. I think people will think you lost weight while at this event. You will enter rooms will bulges (hidden bars & MF) leaving without said bulges. Even if they never see you eat your stash, they will want to know how you Dropped those bulges..

As you know Komodo Dragon is my fav SB. They no longer make it in DeCaf. Boo hoooo...

My granny used to say it is about a million miles between our heart and our head. Your head says Medifast works, your heart is just catching up..

Congrats on your loss & enjoy hubby time...

This should do the trick. Thanks, De. I won't even clean the rust off...

Good Morning everyone!.

Every single person in this house is healthy (frantically knocking on wood) AAAANNNNDDD....second week down, 3 pounds gone! WOOT!.

Off to Pump it Up with the littles....that should be nice and exhausting. Have a great day!.

I'm going two weeks from today!!!!!! We're staying in a condo a little north of Lahaina. We got a great deal on a place right on the beach! Can you tell I'm excited?.

Well we gals could wear bikinis and put the men in speedos, if that would make you feel better...

Talien and Sassy: great job on your losses!.

I am a hungry girl! It is an exam week, so I am proctoring finals. Painful. I have a bar but can't eat it until noon when the kids leave. Gulping water and tea as I hope to keep from chewing on my arm...

Oh Hawaii - I should be there now.....Sad me.. DD18 was invited to be part of the cheer squad at the pro bowl and little bugger says "No thanks" H and I were like What no we want to go. She says well you guys can still go..................We were flabbergasted, who turns down opportunities like that?..

We leave the end of March for our Mediterranean cruise...

Oooooo, Speedos....

We were on the beach years ago and this guy stood up and across his behind, it said, "S O" but when he yanked them out of there, it said SPEEDO. True story...

I Skype with my sister ALL the time and she noticed it in my face - took a while, though. But she knew I was dieting, too...

LOL - yes, there is a disclaimer for that one..

LMAO! Now there's a visual I won't be able to get rid of for awhile!.

Sassy-I'm excited too. And I still have 3 1/2 months to go!..

Thanks, Penny. I'll try to do that here. I love logging my food. Having the time marked is a big help to me..

M: you are really working this plan. Great 1st two weeks!.

Chatty: Your Mediterranean Cruise sounds so romantic. Enjoy..

I am thankful you are all here..

Great losses posted today by TLs!..

Oh Penny! How can I think of Speedo's without thinking of our beloved Whipmaster? <shudder>..

Good morning, darlings!!! I'm HUNGRY today and yesterday. Had to stop at the store and buy pickles last night... I'd been out for a few weeks, because Costco stopped carrying the Carnegie Deli fresh ones I've been eating every damn day for my entire time on Medifast - they are apparently SEASONAL and I have to wait for next HARVEST. Ugh. Can you feel my pain from there? Anyway, after a decent interval, I decided to allow inferior snacks back into my life, in the form of another brand of pickle. *sigh* And I just had soup for breakfast, which I never do, because I'm HUNGRY!.

I checked my mail last night and there was a LETTER in it. From Morty. The sweetest, most amazingly wonderful letter any lucky girl ever received. He wins. He can have me. I give up..

De: Happy anniversary!!!!!!.

Penny: YAY for the cruise! I'm so delighted for you. And for all the rest of you cruisers, ZOMGWTFBBQ???!!?!?! What is with all this mobility?.

TKD, Talien, Sassy, Meldubal: yay, you big losers you!!!!.

Steph: running? Really? Have you had your head examined?.

Anna: that's awesome that you can keep your surprise. Just bear in mind you might need to start stuffing cotton balls in your cheeks the further along you get..

Mia: "MF is my cruise." That's so perfect. I love it. Yes indeedy, this is about all the adventure I can handle!.

Cheri: yay for the praise from those around you! I can just see the little girls with their eyes shining. Well, and hubster too..

Good morning everyone!!!!..

Good morning all!.

De, I need a good smacking this morning. I ate too many pickles yesterday. Apparently that is not a food that I can keep in my house. I bypassed DH's hot dogs, pizza, and snack cakes.. and I ate the entire jar of pickles..

They are relatively low in everything except.

So I tracked it, threw away the jar, vowed never again to buy pickles by the jar, and guzzled water for the rest of the night..

And today? Well, I'm 0.8 pounds down from yesterday, so I'm not gonna cry too much longer over it..

I'm beginning to get antsy to start moving. Saturday marks the beginning of week 4 and the day I can officially be sanctioned to start an exercise program. Of course, Saturday I will have just finished working two shifts in a row, so it will be the last thing on my mind until Sunday!.

FreyaI have a crush on Morty too. Don't tell DH..

No chopped tofuyou guys do more talking before I roll out of bed than I can keep up with!..

DH has a couple he got for our honeymoon (Greece), but I won't let him wear them in this country.

His kids make sure of that, too...

I'll never tell. Of course, if you're ever within 10 miles of him I will stuff that tetanus-laden fork deep into your eye socket, but I'll do it with love in my heart, I promise..

As for pickles, I am sorry. They are a goodness, but not if they take over your brain like little pod people and make you eat them all at once. Perhaps later, after some time to think about the error of their ways.....

Rachel - I just can't smack you for pickles. Just can't..

Freya and Penny - Thanks for the Anniv. wishes..

Freya - Glad you are finally giving in to your Mr. Perfect! What a guy. Does he have a brother?..

Happy anniversary, De..

Penny, sorry about your steamed broccoli..

Freya, enjoy Morty, he sounds like a keeper..

No chopped tofu...

*pouts* Crap, and I was kind of looking forward to it. If I weren't so bent on getting to goal by a certain point in the future, I'd say I'll try harder next time. But I amso I won't!..

Ugggh so confirmation-you know I talk about my DD alot, I do love my boys too but well they are at a royal PITA stage and more frsutrating then pleasant right now.....

Anyway for the last two years DD had a horribly abusive BF. To the point H and I called the police and restraining orders issued, etc. She hated us for it but understood, also snuck to be with him (they were the town romeo and juliet cause the rents were trying to keep them apart)....She actually kept talking to us through this but we knew she was keeping alot inside.

So her and I were just joking about some opportunities she had given up (the Hawaii trip, going AWAY to college, a spring break trip with her girls, etc) and she got all serious "well yea mom I thought I would be with D"..............OMG we so knew it but she NEVER admitted it before. God I hate it when someone breaks our kids hearts...

Lynne, you sound like a really wonderful mom. DD is so lucky to have you, and will continue to realize just how much more and more over the years...

Happy Anniversary De!.

Love that Morty!.

To all the cruisers.... jealous! Have fun!.

To the Losers... victory dance for you..

I had Coffee with hot coco this morning. Loved it but getting out the lumps is a pain..

Mmmm pickles..

I should be prepping for an interview I have tomorrow but instead I'm trying to catch up on here. Distractions, lovely distractions...

Alright....this is just wrong. It is 1:48 and there are already like 9 million posts to read. How is a girl to keep up?..

And thank god I had not reached for my water bottle!..

This is how you know you are a runner. There is a big storm headed your way. You decide to go into work early (5:30 am) so you can get your scheduled run in (because you are too cheap to buy a treadmill for home when you have one at school) before your AP Biology coffee club at 7 and your meeting with your grad student at 7:30. You pull out of the garage and notice that it is really snowing. Like, cancel school snowing. You go anyway, because the run is the most important thing.

But I got my run in!..

Congrats to all the losers in here..

TDK, I remember how much I celebrated winning the "seat" battle. For me it was primarily roller coasters. I have not doubt you will win this battle!..

A Tough Love Thread???? Me likey..

*peeks in and looks around*.

Guys? We're all yelling at Shelley. Think we might scare her off?..

But you might need your head examined..

I think I've needed to have my head examined for a very long time...

Ran to the grocery store at lunch and the.

Whole barrel.

Of pickles was empty in the deli section, but I didn't see you or Freya anywhere.

So as not to be confused, or congratulated erroneously, I didn't literally.

- I was in my car in a hurry..

Nah. It takes more than excited yelling to scare Shelley away!..

I would run to the grocery, but there is this little matter of a lot of snow outside. And this calm before the worst of it. Kind of creepy. The snow has stopped for a little bit, but I just know that it is lurking, waiting to dump all over me tonight...
