Question I have... Medifast recipes on how to Steam or Boil crab? Many thanks for any answer. 2nd question I got is.. Tis the season, soon there will be cookies, fruitcakes, candies, and all sorts of goodies coming in from everywhere for the Holidays. I don't know about where you all work but in a hospital you get goodies from everywhere, dr's offices, different departments, everyone doing some baking and wanting to share to get it out of their house, grateful pts, and family members, holiday luncheons, holiday parties in and out of work, and the list goes on and on.........................

Last year I was still so new post op that I was afraid to try any of it. This year I am concerned about how I will handle it all! If only we could convince them to send us all fruit baskets! It is harder to overdo it on apples, oranges, and bananas!.

I know I am in control of what goes in my mouth, I know to drink water and all that, but somedays I just wish we could fast forward from Thanksgiving to the day after New Year's! THere is only so many miles I can bike in the wintertime and I hate that danged treadmill!.

How are you all planning to handle the holidays? They say the average person gains 5-10 lbs between Thanksgiving and New Year's. I don't want to be one of them!.

Good question... I dunno what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I find an anything. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can help you..

I'll be newly post-op this year, but I think you might want to give yourself some rules, and complete avoidance might be unrealistic or unnecessary. Perhaps you can tell yourselv you can have 1 -2 Tbsp of a treat only on the actual holidays? Just a thought. You'll want to be very picky about what those 2 T. contain......

Another thoght or two...Pumpkin isn't bad for you, what about making a pie with spenda rather than sugar? Bake yourself some sugar-free cookies that are big on nuts and flavor, low on carbs and sugars...Get creative and be prepared...

It will be just myself and my husband this year, so I really do not have to worry about any pies, cookies and cakes,we will probably just do a small diiner that will feed us, and sit by the fire with our cat lol..

I am taking my son to the circus. My son's bday is on Thanksgiving and I wanted to do something more than celebrate with food..

I am able to.

The snacks there as their prices for these events are ridiculous..

We are still getting together with the family but usually at this time they have cleaned up and the Medifast food is put away. If it's out of sight it is outta mind...

I have never liked pumpkin, or fruit cake. I am scared to try any cookies, fudge, candy, etc. Can't have carbs for another 4+ months, but I can have fruit and veggies by Christmas. So, I am avoiding all the wonderful stuff, and eating nothing but meat and veggies, with fruit as a snackypoo. But, avoidance is the key, for me, to get through the holidays...

I'm not worried about Christmas day itself. I am on call. Not going to see my family. Kids will be with their dad. Hubby and I can cook what we want. I am worried about the day in and day out crap that will be showing up on a regular basis at work between now and the end of the year!.
