That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I got an useful answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could assist you..
Shelly has a great "California Roll Salad"...I miss my sushi, it's one of my favorite things, but her salad is amazing even if we can't have the rice..
Thanks for the shout out alysharea ;).
I do that salad at home then at sushi I order sashimi or a place near my house makes these great rice-less rolls with very thin cucumber called Naruto Rolls. Many post-ops eat rice I choose not too so these really give me the fix within my guidelines..
I love sushi! I do the naruto rolls with cucumber and my favorite place does rolls for me with a soy paper in place of seaweed. As the seaweed is to tough for me. I do sashimi and I love miso soup. The edamame is great for protein!.
I get rolls that are fish and avacado and no fried or tempura stuff, so they are pretty healthy..
I hadn't thought about Japanese food, but I am so glad I can still eat it!..
Sashimi is the seafood without the rice and is available at most of the same restaurants. I have it along with miso soup and edamame (soy beans). I think that is the best way to eat out and stay on program. I take a cooler with me, because I always have a doggie bag, that needs to be refrigerated..
I do not know about the digestion issue and the stomach acid that may help digest the raw fish...would be interested to know if it is the same as before WLS...
Naruto roll.....very cool..I could live with that..and love edamame..big smile now..was mourning it today..thanks everybody!!..
Ooh, I have never herd of the naruto rolls. Yummy, I may just have to treat myself to some this weekend!..
Looked at the bento box this am...bookmarked..looks like a great idea!!..
