That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I discover an answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably know..
STICK TO THE PLAN, foo, or suffer the consequences!..
You really should eat exactly what the plan says..
For breakfast, I usually make oatmeal for my low GI carb. Dinners, I like to take a few slices of Melba toast and spread some peanut butter on them for my fat serving. Plus, the Melba toast is great to sop up some of the sauce in the Nutrisystem entrees..
Look in the back of the diary for suggestions on low GI carbs. There's plenty to choose from. It takes a while to get into the swing of things, but it's worth it!..
I will tell you the same they told me when I started at the first of the month.... Eat ALL the food. It really does work!!!..
What they said. Don't miss the snacks/desserts or any of the add-in proteins and carbs. You'll feel better and probably even lose faster..
Read the meal plan that came with your shipment. It tells you what and when to eat. It tells you want you need to buy at the grocery store. For instance, the salad is a big deal. At least once a day. 2 tbsn.
The water requirement is also extremely important. The more, the better. Never less than 80 ounces a day, preferably cold...
For my carbs, I like Orowheat double-fiber muffins - just plain. It's a nice thing I can eat in the car or where ever. I eat one-half of a muffin which is only 55 calories, but it has lots of fiber...
I dont know what your current and goal weights are but if you have more than 100 lbs to lose be sure to check that little fine print at the bottom of every page of the meal planner about adding a carb to breakfast and dinner and a fruit to lunch. My weight loss really took off when I did that. Welcome to Nutrisystem and the forums..
+100: NutriSystem is NOT a starvation diet! Starvation does NOT work. Trust me, I've tried...
Welcome to Nutrisystem Hablur!.
There's lots of support and advice here....check out Dietitians Corner for answers to all your program questions or General to find a group to join!.
Have a great day!..
Hablur I will say that starvation does not work. I have been doing this for 5 weeks and I am down 23 pounds. I stick to the letter of the law. Why? The results should tell you why. I lose between 0.3 and 0.5 pounds per day on the plan. I am learning the concept of 5 small meals a day.
This is an eating philosophy, not starvation, not diet! We need to do this even after we get off NS...
I like egg mcmuffins, but I'm still fat..
If you're feeling full, find ways to pump up the calories with less filling foods. Drink juice for your fruit in the morning and add half an wheat english muffin for your carb, or plain wheat bread, not whole wheat. V8 has those fusion drinks. You can drink half for your morning fruit and the other half for your morning snack (add a protein in! a handful of dry roasted edamame would be perfect for you). Drink Ensure meal replacement shakes to get your protein in..
You may find yourself getting hungry as the plan proceeds. That's when you ease back into the more filling foods, like whole fruits instead of fruit juices, whole wheat bread instead of regular wheat bread, etc. Get the calories in..
Essentially you have to reprogram your body to deal with a proper diet. The only way to do that is eat a proper diet. Once your body realizes you're eating right, it will do all the work for you. I'm reading.
You on a Diet.
Right now, and there's a story about a person who was barely eating at all. The doctor forced her to eat more, and at first she actually gained weight because of the way she'd been starving herself. But after two or three weeks, her body finally became accustomed to eating properly and the pounds started to fly away. You don't sound as extreme as this, but the same thing still might be going on..
Work the plan for a while. If you can't eat everything at one go, then graze on the various parts throughout the day. But eat all of your food every day and drink your water...
I have done the same thing for my carbs since I started. Slice of seeded Rye..
Since I still have over 100lbs to lose - I have 2 at breakfast - 1 at lunch and 1 at dinner. Its easy - I can break it apart if it's a hungry day and nibble at it. Or just wolf it down if I don't want to be bothered with it. Just be careful with picking it out. I dug around and I am using a loaf the is about 80 cal a slice..
But drink all the water - eat everything on plan. I am finding out that if I skip on the water - even a little bit - I won't lose. Same with the food. If I skip on one thing then I will prob lose weight that day - but for the week I will stagnate...
