First question I have is Nutrisystem,...Have you ever belonged to Nutrisystem? Ever worked for Jenny? Thanks in advance for any answer. Another question... Okay guys,.

My name is Kell and yesterday I ordered the Men's basic plan. I just recieved an email with a UPS tracking number so I guess before the end of the week I should be getting my order..

Here's a little about me. I'm 49 years young, I'm 5'-11" tall and as of this morning I weigh 281 lbs. I had a complete physical a month or so ago and thankfully although I am overweight, I am in good physical condition. I have struggled with my weight for many years, but in the last 10 years, I have really packed it on. Over the years since adding the weight and I suppose getting older and becomming less active, I have also noticed a loss of muscle mass..

I love to eat and I eat just about anything. I'm a late night eater when no one is around, and I even hide food so I can get at it when I get the craving. I have recently began to wonder if I have a food addiction..

I love the outdoors, we enjoy camping as a family, fishing, hiking, riding bikes, and kayaking. We love to travel to the National Parks and to the beaches and soak in nature. The biggest problem, is that I am too heavy to fully experience and enjoy thoae activites with my family to the fullest. I have the heart of an adventurer, but the body of a couch potato. I see myself doing so much more and know that there is a better life for me in my future..

My wife is the love of my life and is very supportive. She's a very fit 122 lbs. and we enjoy being with each other and doing things together. Unfortunately, there are things we both want to do but my weight prevents me from being able to fully participate..

Here's my plan: In the past I have always had limited success with weight loss and the ability to keep the weight off because I feel I have attacked the problem from one side and one side only. Either I went on a diet and didn't exercise or I exercised and didn't change my eating habits..

Well I have joined a health club so close to my house that I can walk to it. I have begun a program that includes both cardio and weight training and have been going 4 to 5 days a week for the last three weeks. I have also ordered the Nutrisystem Men's basic program and plan to follow it very carefully, and I plan to come here as often as possible to log my progress and to hang out with you guys to get tips and support and to hopefully offer tips and support myself as time goes by..

I will be turning 50 on October 14th of this year and would like to be at a healthy 180 lbs for my birthday. That gives me about 34 weeks I think, but I'm convinced that I can do it..

Anyway guys, that's my story and my goals, I would appreciate any encouragement, ideas and tips you can give to help me reach my goal. I look forward to the journey as well as making new friends her along the way..

Thanks for taking the time to read this...

Welcome! I'm 5 weeks in and it's been a breeze so far....as everyone will tell you...just stick to the plan, and it will work. I'm a believer now...after being a skeptic at first!.

Start now- don't wait on the food to arrive. I lost about 4 pounds just waiting on the food to arrive..

I started at 281 also- and am down 28 pounds so far. Once you start to notice chagnes....that's all the motivation you will need!!.

Ask questions and Good Luck!..

Thanks guys,.

I'm looking forward to taking control of my weight. Sean, I plan on working the Nutrisystem system after all my system hasn't worked well for me, thanks for the advise on calling a couselor when I feel like cheating. Wheeljo, no joke 28 lbs in 5 weeks? Man I've been dreaming of getting to 253 lbs for years. I got a feeling your going to be a big encouragement for me..

Thanks again...

Welcome Kell, your story sounds familiar to mine in a lot of ways. You're going to be amazed at what you're able to do with this program and the support of this site, and at how effortless it all really is. I can't encourage you enough to make full use of this site, kind of "you get out what you put in". I can see a direct correlation between my participation here and success on the program. Definitely read back in the history of the Men's Room postings, there is probably anything anybody who's ever tried to lose weight could hope to know buried in there..

Good luck, be seeing you around...

Nutrisystem at 100% equals success! Eating per the plan, recording your food, drinking your water, posting your weigh-ins and exercising! Expect to lose weight if you follow the plan 100% daily!.

Keep stringing together 100% days and good things always happen!.

Welcome Kell, If you are a night binger you need to do two things. 1) get rid of the junk food (you need to do this anyway) 2) Apolyton will tell you to eat big salads at night. this will keep you from gettin up and binging!.

We are here to help, but read the "Men's Rules to posting." we don't take whining too well around here and although we do encourage, we will not stroke you like the women stroke each other. You have a lofty goal time wise, but you can get close to you goal by your birthday!..

Best of luck Kell, I ditto everything they have said, and they are not kidding about following the plan 100%, I've dropped 28 in 4 weeks, but during week 3 I only lost 3 pounds, because I decided to try to accelerate things by not eating my afternoon Nutrisystem snack. I figured since I wasn't that hungry and could skip it between lunch and dinner, that I would eat that many less calories and be fine, but my body needed those extra calories and good carbs to use to metabloize the fat. I may not have cheate dand gone to McDonalds, but I cheated myself out of a better weight loss week, because I didn't follow the plan 100%, that is a big key..

I wish you the best of success, and we are all here for support if you need us. You will do great things, the first step was ordering the food, and once you start and begin to lose you will see it's the best decision you ever made for your health...

Hi Kell! Your story is virtually word-for-word the same as mine. You've made the right choice, man! This has been literally a life-changing experience for me, as it has been for MANY others! All you wrote about your plans are right-on. NS+Exercise= everything you're hoping for, and more. Welcome to your New Life!!.

Here's the best advice I can give you..

Click on quick links on the top right of the page. Choose edit options and under thread display options unclick the box next to "show signatures"..

That way you won't have to look at those embarrasing glitter sigs that some of the guys like Hugebear and Poly have right now...

I gotta tell you guys, I am impressed with all of you as well as others I've seen on this site with all the weight loss. I have to admit even as I signed up I had my doubts as to how effective this program would be. I saw the commercials with the before and after pictures and looked at the testimonials on the site and thought yeah yeah, those folks are extreme cases but don't represent the majority of those using Nutrisystem. But man, I see success stories all over this website and I am pumped. I just checked and my package is scheduled to arrive on Monday March 1st and I can't wait...

Welcome and good luck. Just stick with it and this plan is a breeze. If you get discouraged come to the boards. You couldn't pay for support like you get here!..

Good luck kell - success is easy as mentioned above - you are changing your way of life here, it's not a diet - so get going now! it does work. let your friends and family know so they can support you too - not put you in situations where you may cheat...

If you follow the plan it can not fail. The first thing I had to convince myself of is even a small cheat is a cheat. After I got my head in the game the pounds starting dropping fast. One other great thing is the plan is not hard or complicated to follow at all. It has made a believer out of me in just one month...

Welcome aboard and follow the plan. Like others have said come here when you feel like cheating, after calling a counselor and get your butt kicked back on plan...

Welcome Kell123, reading other people's success stories in these boards has helped me, because we all have similar tales. Like you, I am turning 50 this year, and don't want to be 50 pounds overweight on my birthday. This is the start of my third week, have lost another 4 pounds during week 2..

I wish I had found the boards before I started, so good for you for doing that. A word of advice; get your storage area ready for the food to arrive. It takes about 1-1/2 3-shelf cupboards to store all of it...
