First question I got is On iPage, how do I delete an entire webpage so that it's not there anymore? Thanks for any comment. Second question.. I've found tons and tons of great information/contribs by searching on my own but have yet to find the answer to these questions. I'm sure it's just because I didn't search correctly..

If someone could point me in the direction of the info I'd greatly appreciate it!.

I hope this doesn't sound dumb but...First I'd like to know how to remove the right column from certain pages but not others? Specifically, I'd like to remove it from the home page but still have it operational on the products info page for reviews and such..

Then the next is if the right column is removed from the home page how do I enlarge the text area without having the edges disappear under the area dedicated to the right column? I hope this makes sense....

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!.

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I find an good answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could answer your iPage question..

In the catalog.

Index.php.

Change this:.

<td width="<?php echo BOX_WIDTH; ?>" valign="top"><table border="0" width="<?php echo BOX_WIDTH; ?>" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2">.

<! right_navigation //>.

<?php require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES'column_right.php'); ?>.

<! right_navigation_eof //>.

</table></td>.

To.

<?php.

Switch ( basename($PHP_SELF) ) {.

Case FILENAME_DEFAULT:.

Break;.

Default:.

?>.

<td width="<?php echo BOX_WIDTH; ?>" valign="top"><table border="0" width="<?php echo BOX_WIDTH; ?>" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2">.

<! right_navigation //>.

<?php require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES'column_right.php'); ?>.

<! right_navigation_eof //>.

</table></td>.

<?php.

}.

?>.

Look in.

/catalog/includes/.

Filenames.php.

And add the names of pages you.

DON'T.

Want it to show on here:.

Case FILENAME_DEFAULT:.

Break;.

For eaxmple, if you wanted to exclude the contact us page the code would look like:.

Case FILENAME_DEFAULT:.

Case FILENAME_CONTACT_US:.

Break;.

With this code it will also let the page expand..

I tested it and it works..

But you'll need to make this code change on all your catalog pages..

If you just make a change in column_right you will get a blank table on the page where the right column used to be...

I simply modify column left (or right) and conditionally include some elements, like.

If (strstr(basename($PHP_SELF),'index') ) {.

// index page stuff here.

}..

Comment #3

If you want to keep the area occupied by the right column "reserved", don't do it my way..

I misread your post (I think)...

Thank you soooo much.

This is exactly what I was looking for and easy, too. Works like a charm....

Jim even through my rambling you understood correctly..

You can create a variable for the "Home Page" that the right column will check for. If the user is on the home page, display a "special" right hand column with no content. If they are on any other page, display the normal right hand column..

Find in your index.php file.

<?php.

} else {.

// default page.

?>.

And replace with this.

<?php.

} else {.

// default page.

$homepage = 1;.

?>.

This sets the variable of $homepage equal to 1.

Then add the conditional for the right column..

Change.

<! right_navigation //>.

<?php require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES'column_right.php'); ?>.

<! right_navigation_eof //>.

To.

<! right_navigation //>.

<?php.

If ($homepage == 1) {.

Require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES'column_right_home.php');.

} else {.

Require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES'column_right.php');.

}.

?>.

<! right_navigation_eof //>.

You will nedd to create a file in the includes directory called column_right_home.php without the guts inside..
