Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I got an answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could help you..
Thanks for the reply... actually have that contrib installed and it improves upon the base whos_online.php, but instead of learning which IP belongs to a spider, and which IP belongs to a customer, I'd like to know who has an item in their cart, without having to click on each individual user...
This sounds like a great idea, I would also like to implement something like this. In addition to having an indicator if someone has something in their cart, how about some sort of dhtml popup when you hover over the user's information, telling you what they have in their cart? This would also save a lot of time..
Have you tried the "User Tracking" contribution? I can see what's in the carts with it...
No, I've already got the Who's Online Enhancement installed. I believe what the original poster had in mind (and what I'd love to have as well) is simply a yes or no indicator on each visitor's "who's online" line, indicating whether or not that user has anything in their cart. This way you don't have to click on each line just to find out what is or is not in their cart...
Every time I click onto the links that suppose to show the cart contents in the ADMIN panel I get this error..
Warning: mysql_query(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /var/www/html/catalog/admin/includes/functions/database.php on line 45.
Select p.products_id, pd.products_name, p.products_model, p.products_price, p.products_weight, p.products_tax_class_id from products p, products_description pd where p.products_id='143' and pd.products_id = p.products_id and pd.language_id = '1'.
Any Ideas On how to Correct this........
Yes, that is exactly what I meant... A Yes or No next to each user to save the time of clicking on each individual user just to see if a cart exists...
I am wanting to use the whos online modification, to see which users are actually spiders and which are customers.... however the README.txt says you have to have Spider Sessions set to "TRUE". I cant turn this to true, because I get errors.... (due to another contribution I have installed but I cant remeber which one!).
Is there anyway to use this to check spiders without having the Spider Seesion set to True in the admin?????.
I frequently monitor visitor logs to better understand shopper behavior. I also use the whos_online tool and am always interested in watching as people add products to their shopping cart. Occasionally though, if I have 30 or so visitors and shoppers browsing all at once, I must click on each user in whos_online in order to see if they have anything in their cart, and if so, what products) they have..
In order to save time browsing through whos_online when so many people are viewing the iPage site at once, I'm trying to come up with a snippet of code that adds a column to the whose online html table that provides a simple yes or no as to whether the user has item(s) in their cart..
Anybody have any suggestions?.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide...
We use "Who's Online Enhancement v1.0".
It allows us to click on the IP to see if it's Googe or a real customer. We can also see what they are browsing. However the best method is to look at your weblogs as this gives far more information..
If you want a copy of the contribution and can't find it. PM me..
