Problem with HTML and iPage web design?

Got a quick question: Problem with HTML and iPage web design? Thanks for any response. Another question... Hi,.

I deleted the text from the "HEADING_TITLE" from my index.php. Here's what my iPage site looks like.

Http://www.aplus-computersonline.com/.

It used to say "This iPage site is under construction", when I deleted that title I deleted the entire line by accident. Like an idiot I saved it without verifying it was correct and now it's gone forever. I know it's in the index.php file but I can't remember what the code said before I erased it..

Can someone please tell me how to fix this? I use dreamweaver 2004 MX to edit..

Thanks for your help..

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to that question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I discover an answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably can help you..

Thanks for the replies but I'm a little confused as where to add the code. This line doesn't change anything: "define('HEADING_TITLE', 'List of Products');" it's always been there but won't change the way it looks in the site?.

Can you tell where I messed this up from my code below? Thanks @Bluemoon - I'm making a backup as soon as I fix this.

Here's what my index.php file looks like:..

I think you are missing the "What's New" heading and that is edited in catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php. I bolded the two locations in the code where HEADING_TITLE show up (below)..

After the define_TEXT_MAIN code, you will find the HEADING_TITLE (near the bottom). If it's missing, just copy-and-paste it back and define the text as you wish..

Define('TABLE_HEADING_NEW_PRODUCTS', 'New Paintings from Westport Artist');.

Define('TABLE_HEADING_UPCOMING_PRODUCTS', 'Upcoming Products');.

Define('TABLE_HEADING_DATE_EXPECTED', 'Date Expected');.

If ( ($category_depth == 'products') || (isset($HTTP_GET_VARS['manufacturers_id'])) ) {.

  define('HEADING_TITLE', 'View This Category');.

Define('TABLE_HEADING_IMAGE', '');.

Define('TABLE_HEADING_MODEL', 'Model');.

Define('TABLE_HEADING_PRODUCTS', 'Product Name');.

Define('TABLE_HEADING_QUANTITY', 'Quantity');.

Define('TABLE_HEADING_PRICE', 'Price');.

Define('TABLE_HEADING_WEIGHT', 'Weight');.

Define('TABLE_HEADING_BUY_NOW', 'Buy Now');.

Define('TEXT_NO_PRODUCTS', 'There are no products to list in this category.');.

Define('TEXT_NO_PRODUCTS2', 'There is no product available from this manufacturer.');.

Define('TEXT_NUMBER_OF_PRODUCTS', 'Number of Products: ');.

Define('TEXT_SHOW', '<b>Show:</b>');.

Define('TEXT_BUY', 'Buy 1 \'');.

Define('TEXT_NOW', '\' now');.

Define('TEXT_ALL_CATEGORIES', 'All Categories');.

} elseif ($category_depth == 'top') {.

define('HEADING_TITLE', 'What\'s New?');.

} elseif ($category_depth == 'nested') {.

Define('HEADING_TITLE', 'Categories');.

}.

See if this does the trick..

Regarding the backup: did you save the zip file that you downloaded? I always save mine. If so, just unzip a new copy to a new folder and stick in an "Originals" folder..

I'm glad that it's working now. Yay!!!.

It made me realize that it's in twice. I hadn't noticed that before myself..

Live and learn..

Nice site! Are you going to try to make the OSCommerce iPage site look like the rest of that site?..

Comment #6

Actually that is the OScommerce site. I just changed the colors and what not.

I have a backup copy of my iPage site on CD-RW now.

Thanks again for your help..

Comment #7

Good going!.

I'm going to make a backup after each successful contribution installment...

A little Dreamweaver tip:.

If you don't close the file your working on, you can always use the "Undo" feature (CTRL + Z) to go back. I personaly never close a file until it's working perfectly, so I can go back if nessecary...

Comment #9

Yeah, that's true but I closed it without saving first...

You can edit the define text in catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php file. Just find or re-enter:.

Define('HEADING_TITLE', 'View This Category');.

And replace 'View This Category' with 'This iPage site is under construction' or whatever..

I think that will do the trick..

Friendly tip:.

Keep an original backup of all files somewhere for reference. You can locate your original zip file and create an original file and store it for safe-keeping...
