My first question is There were three women in the Nutrisystem commercials...can someone name all three of them? Looking forward for any comment. Second question.. So... I found out yesterday that I had eating triggers..

Who knew?.

To me, an eating trigger is when your brain tells you you're hungry, but you're really not. Almost got tricked by that one yesterday..

For me, work is an eating trigger. I am a software engineer by trade, and that's what we do, eat junk food while pounding out software (call me old school)..

THIS is going to be the hardest one for me to break... but at least I recognize it!..

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I bump into an good answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably could answer your Nutrisystem question..

Whew! When I opened this thread I thought it had to do with eating horses!..

I don't think it's okay to eat a bullet. Don't remember seeing it on Nutrisystem authorized add-ins...

I hear you! I am CPA that is what we do this time of the year. We eat donuts, candy, chips, pretzels all busy season. You see that stuff and you just want to have one. But now I know better..

The best thing is that you realize it. It means you can choose to deal with it. Choose wisely my friend...

I don't think those are on the menu at either Bone Daddys or Hard 8. But I think I might have had some in a little place just outside Wichita Falls......

Football. I have to be eating to watch football. It's been the hardest part of this whole thing for me..

A standard day is easy because I plan ahead. But sitting at the game with the beer, chips, pepperoni and cheese, wings, pigs in a blanket, potato skins, nachos..... It is probably one of the reasons I put the weight on.... now it's the hardest to live though..

Sorry to intrude - there's no one in my usual spot and I was lonely so came looking for some friends.... And I laughed at the trigger jokes. Just didn't have one to share....

Remember what John Lennon said, "Happiness is a warm (yes it is) gun...."..

Thanks Thelma - it's nice to know that we're not in this alone sometimes.....

Don't forget the coffee/Mt. Dew/Dr. Pepper - and now various energy drinks LOL. The internet runs of caffeine & sugar - trust me!.

Boredom is probably my biggest trigger - so it's hard not to munch while doing CODE REVIEWS. Nothing like looking at someone else's code to glaze the eyes over and reach for a sugar/carb pick me up.....

And Thelma - you're totally right about watching football too! I somehow found (and married) a man who detests football so I don't do that much anymore - but when I do I have to plan accordingly (with carrot & celery sticks)..

I always seem to want to grab something when I walk in the door at home at the end of the day. I think this comes from the old after school snack. I try to keep my afternoon snack for this time..

This one ha been hard to break..

For me boredom has always been the 1st reason to eat, with stress coming in a very close 2nd...

I eat at occasions and I think I always will...bday, wedding, just seeing friends/family - any party reason - just part of my heritage and you can't deny I need to change that, and I have made progress...went to see family and they looked at me like I was nuts when I just at the salad...gumbas usually make extra meatballs when they know i'm on the way.

But, I can't say I am 100% there yet - blew it today even! wife's bday.

But still, I was in good control and I think I have learned that the past 3 months..

I totally hear you Acoustic. I'm a programmer by trade as well..

... code code code eat code code eat code code sleep code code ....

I used to drink soda all day long, chow down on the Buffalo Chicken Sandwhich with fries at lunch, order a nice big pizza for dinner... never put 2+2 together. Up till 2:00 am some nights drinking down the coffee and munching on chips. The damage never clicked, until I got a wake up call that was long overdue..

Basically I stopped carrying cash. No more money to feed into the vending machine at work, no more money for the cafeteria at lunch, unless I want to go find an ATM machine first. Damn near everythign I need to buy going to or from work, I pay for with a debit card anyway. Carrying cash just helped me spend on bad things...

Another programmer here...i'm not so much a muncher - pretty good during the day - salad at lunch, pretty much just juice for breakfast and average weekness is the 12 (or 18) pack at night - but, no beer in the house, no problem - been doing well with that for 4 months now except over chistmas......

The dead cal in booz was my problem also. Willing to bet that one pound loss per week was the absents of scotch in my diet...

I'm with you, Steve. I'm a single malt guy. Problem for me is not only the empty calories but the fact that alcohol gives the munchies. So I end up making bad food choices to exacerbate the damage...
