First of all Thinking of changing iPage web host ecommerce? Looking forward for any response. Another question on my mind: Hello!.

What a great program, so well designed, and professional!.

My question is this, with this program, can I sell images to people for download?.

For instance, they pay, then are able to download the selected pictures they've purchased..

Please let me know how to go about doing this if possible..

Thanks!..

Good question... I dunno what is the answer to your question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I discover an decent answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably know..

Thank you for the response. I'm quite new to this, can you go in a bit more depth? I'm not sure I understand what I'm seeing on the admin panel according to the instructions. I set up a test, but it says nothign about downloading it once purchased, also, it still shows shipping info and an address to be sent. Is this normal?..

Also, Can I test it to make sure it works somehow?..

Ok. You first need to upload the pictures you want to sell into the /download folder in your store..

In the admin screen, once you have logged on, click on the "configuration" option. on the left, at the bottom of the list is the "download" option - click that..

When the Download screen comes up, select "enable download" then click edit on the right and set it to "true" and click "update". Do the same for "download by redirect" (if your store is on a unix system)..

Then set the number of days and the number of downloads you want the link to be active for. (1 and 1 is fine to start with)..

In the admin screen go to the "catalog" option and click on "categories/products". add a new product for each picture (just try a couple to get started). Leave the weights blank for downloads.

Then click on "product attributes" under catalog. At the bottom of the attributes page there should be a drop-down box with your products in it. Select one of your products from the list and type the filename of that prodcut (as you saved it in the download folder earlier) into the box for filename..

To test it on my site, I signed up for an account and tried to buy the product..

Give it a try - see if it works!..

Read thru the knowledge base and go from there. also I recommend the downloads controller contribution...

Maybe i'm doing something wrong? I installed the downloads mod listed in this topic also.. I put the file test.zip in the download/ dir under admin, I set the price to $0.00 and tested with pay by credit card. when submitted, it shows this:.

Your Order Has Been Processed!.

Your order has been successfully processed! Your products will arrive at their destination within 2-5 working days..

It never offers a download. What am I missing?..
