Got a question... TLS and SSL. iPage's SSL. Isn't TLS a newer version? Hoping for any comment. My 2nd question... Hi,.

Here's my iPage site -.

- not operational yet..

I'm making some changes to the way the iPage site looks..

Biggest ones that could affect the way the iPage site works are removing the right hand column entirely, and cutting extra functions like "reviews" and probably several others, just to a get a simple, compact iPage site (that doesn't look like osCommerce (sorry))..

What I'm wondering is, will the extra hassle of removing these functions, and the effect it will have on the osCommerce engine, work out as more hassle than it's worth. Will I start to get errors from deep within the code, rather than just appearance stuff? Should I stick to the standard columns and boxes?.

My web programming skills are basic, but I do have a grasp of the concepts, and I'm learning more all the time..

Second question - what is the ethics of removing the "copyright osCommerce" link at the bottom of the page?.

Thanks.

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the right answer. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I bump into an good answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could answer your iPage question..

Removing functionality like the right column won't affect stability at all. Check out column_right.php - all it does is include several files. If you don't include them, they won't run - it won't cause issues. You can move those include statements to column_left.php if you want to use some of the features there..

Creating a iPage site that doesn't look like osCommerce is a great idea! There are too many stock stores out there..

The copyright statement - as long as your store doesn't look like default osCommerce, you can remove it and copyright it to yourself. I personally think you should leave the "Powered by osCommerce" statement there but I don't think that's a requirement...

Because I am pre-op for gastric bypass this could be fun! Otherwise for me it would just be depressing..

Last week, at the Dr. I weighed 292. This morning I weighed 287! It's mostly water loss ;o( , I just finished with our monthly visitor.....

I personally think the oscommerce logo and the rest adds weight to the site. I would keep it...

The reason I ask is because I did remove some of the boxes, including the currency one - then, when I changed the default currency in admin to Pounds Sterling, and deleted the Euro and Dollar, none of the goods had a price! Re-creating the currency box, and manually selecting punds seems to be a solution..

Is that just a flaw with the admin part of oscommerce? Or might I get similar problems with other boxes once they are missing?..

Wow, you guys will keep me on my toes. I have only lost 13 pounds so far, but am eating much healthier overall. I would love to lose at least another 20 pounds. In reality I should lose about 50, but that is too daunting a number. It is easier to think about 10-20 pounds at a time...

Ok, well I guess we will start this week as of 9/16/07. Every Sunday I guess we should get back and post losses. Lost 3 pounds. Hopefully, can keep up the.

Walking.

This week. Actually I guess I have to right? Denise..

Try using the STS Template v1.8 contribution. This make sit fast and easy to move things around on your site. Change the general look and dynamic with out beeing a php guru..

Hope this helps..

I've just returned to say that I have temporarily given up on major customising..

Just too many inconsistencies with the number of boxes drawn on different pages, and links to concealed features (like reviews) appearing on other pages..

It's more important for me to get the ecommerce running reliably at this stage..

However I'll probably return at some point in the future for more customisation..

I'll check out that STS Template...

Eek...I mean 85...I refuse to give up that one little lb! LOL :-)..

I started.

Weight watchers.

'{ on my own} 2 weeks ago. I lost 7.4 lbs ...

I also only weigh in once a month at the Doc like Sherry does. I don't think I could handle, I take that back...I KNOW I couldn't handle weighing in more than that. Been there & done that. It didn't work well for me..

I have taken off 62 lbs. by following.

Weight Watchers.

Online program. Love it! I have slipped a litlle here & there, but it is the closest thing to normal that I've come across in the Medifast diet world. I still have some to lose, but as long as I stay as close to WW as possible, I know I can do it. I WI again on the 28th. I'll let you know how I make out then. Good luck to all of you. Eat healthy & be healthy...

Yes, I like the idea. I am going to join Overeaster's Anonymous this week. I really need the support. I weighed 274 last week. I just pray every morning, noon, and night, "help me to eat to live and not live to eat" I have come to realize that binging and overeating is a form of self-harm. Good luck everyone and thanks for the support...

I am at 250 lbs, but I am bicycling and.

Walking.

So I think I am gaining muscle so I have started measuring my body and I am going to keep track of weight loss there. But so far I am at 250 and I will report back a week from now! Good Idea!..

Hi: I was wondering if anyone is interested in posting weekly losses and or gains. I don't want to go to.

Weight watchers.

And pay someone to weigh me anymore. I thought that if I posted it weekly it would be easier to keep me on track. I thought that we don't have to necessarily post our weight, but our losses and or gains for the week would be enough and helpful to us all. I need someone other than me to account for my loss and or gain. Anyway hopefully some of you will be interested. Thanks and hugs. Denise..

Count me in. I belong to a health study for my high blood preasure so for that I have to weigh myself twice per day in the morning and before bed. It motivates me to some weight lose overnight, even if it is only water. I started out the year at 233 pounds I am down to 219, 14 pounds...

I still have 60 lbs to lose, and yes overeating is a form of self harm... when things got really bad I medicated myself with Medifast food and gained back and then some all the weight I had previously lost.. not knowing (or probably even caring at the time) I was harming myself! When I get under 200lbs I'll let you know...

I WILL LET YOU KNOW AFTER WEDS DR APT... MY DR SAYS TO.

AVOID.

THE SCALE DON'T GET HUNG UP ON IT.. IT CAN SABBOTAGE THE DEAL..

LAZER..

Lost 45. I actually got under 200. I am too afraid I will get back over that I am being very strict...

I've tried to do this with monthly weight, but maybe posting lost weight is more comfortable for members. You'll have to make sure it stays bumped or it gets lost in the list of topics..

Good luck, I'll post my losses, but not sure about weekly since I weigh every other week. Too depressing for me since I can go up and down and up and down daily! LOL..

Good idea Denise. I'm down from February. Started at 255. I was 216 yesterday and now 218.6 Arghh.so frustrating. Darn KFC. Just two pieces and look what happens!.

I am still aiming for 200 by the end of this year...

It has not been a week yet, but I've lost a couple of pounds. I'm not excercising. Maybe it's because I'm sweating so much (no air right now). Sometimes I think it's because the doctor changed my meds. Thank you doctor :) Have a great week...

I lost a pound. Just one. It went to join it's other 44 buddies out there somewhere with strict orders not to come back or attach themselves to anyone else! 10 of them found their way back, but so far I have sent 5 of them packing once again. I weigh every morning, but I don't let the little gains or losses get me up or down. I couldn't do that when I first started. Progress is progress!..

Only a few pounds this month, but happy with it. I'm not gaining anymore!..
