Barb...our plan reads a small veggie salad, if excessive hunger is an issue. Nothing in there about watermelon.....

Post-op it is fine and dandy, but now...read your info given at the pre-op dietians class we had to take...and in your bariatric bible...( the green binder) it has all the acceptable things listed...watermelon is not in there anywhere...remember fruit is full of sugar...that is what you are trying to get rid of...all the excess sugar...don't you want your liver to be beautiful and small???.

Beth..

And cucumbers are in there cause they are not sugared up, but a raw veggie, allowed in the salad bowl...just no dressings or crackers....

Remember you and I are part of the same bariatric office...so I got your back girl...just hang on...you are almost there.....

Be careful with eating watermelon it's all natural sugar. One day I think I either ate some too fast or ate too much and I starting getting "The Dumping " I was so sick with nausea. But I still love watermelon...

I'm right there with you! 7 days from tomorrow! I can only have jello and light yogurt and of course the protein drink. Let me tell you I'm tired of them all. I've been drinking lots more water to keep my belly feeling full. It's helped me tremendously today. I'm also allowed 1% milk and that is my high point of every night! That protein shake is tasting nastier and nastier. At least after.

Surgery.

We can slowly start adding fun stuff like peanut butter and bananas! I can't wait!..

I was only allowed cucumber and celery pre.

...in addition to protien shakes and low salt.

Chicken soup.

Broth.....

Thank God I didn't have to eat cucumber! I have maxed out on watermelon, Ice cold, and seedless. But as they say too much of a good thing is bad for you. Too fast and it's coming back up! Too much and youll dump! I havent found the happy place in between yet. But I do so love watermelon!..

Like I said everybody....

Barb and I are a part of the same bariatric office, so we follow the same rules...our pre-op 2 week diet, which she is in now, has no fruits...a small salad if excessive hunger is taking place, a quarter cup of peanuts, or 2 tablespoons of peanut butter once daily...Otherwise it is liquids..which include jello and yogurt....

Also broth...gag..sorry at the point where I am now, I never want to see broth again..

I just want our doctor to be praising her for her hard work and committment to all this. We have a pretty tight pre-op diet, so I know where she has been...and trust me, it's tough, at least at first..

Things most people get are a big fat no no for us..

But look at the weight I lost pre-op...so obviously they know what they are doing...127 pounds pre-op didn't just fall in my lap....

Carolinas Weight Management and Wellness Center gets the credit here.....
