First question I got is What are some good websites to find vegetarian Medifast recipes? Many thanks for any response. My 2nd question... As some of you know, I live abroad, and recently, my insurance has switched traditional coverage to something I'm entirely unfamiliar with. The hospital, clinics, and personnel were all encouraging of the switch saying that it would be seamless, flawless, and no one would notice (more like the insurance was changing names, not that the insurance was changing)..

What should have taken a few weeks (if that) for approval/disapproval has now taken three months, and I just got word this evening that all weight loss.

Surgery.

Requests, referrals, and pre-op surgeries have been terminated and/or canceled no matter their current status..

So I wasn't unapproved (disapproved?), it's just that the Surgeon General of the hospital shut down everyone from getting it done because of the complications of getting approved through the new insurance system..

Right now, there's no indication when Bypass options will kick back on, if ever. Since there's no indication when or if Bypass will come back as an option, "they" (whoever they are) do not know if all of my previous work (6 months weight loss monitoring, life skills appointments, health/nutrition/fitness classes, all of my pre-op stuff) will be considered for a future.

Surgery.

..

I'm furious. I'm heartbroken. I'm so unbelievably disappointed. I'm angry. I'm just so freakin' sad...

I'm really sorry that that has happened. It is certainly disheartening. I suggest two words for you: Medical Tourism. For example, Mexico. Good surgeons, good clinics, finacing available. If the insurance program is going to be a hindrance to your good health, go around it...

Which they do for some contracts, just not mine! As soon as we switched to United I signed up!.

Contact the state Insurance commissioner and see if there is recourse, since you were so far along. Also your state sen and rep...can't hurt!..

I really feel for you. I have been on that health/care treadmill for months. I started in February and didn't get a.

I have with all health care and insurance providers. It's saved me twice. Health care and insurance providers will "forget" what tests they've done, what forms your've completed for them and what pre-operative requirements you've met. You have to be your own advocate, you have to keep your own records and when the health care provider or insurer screws up (and they will) you get your own records out, shove them in their face, and tell them they better get their %$^& together..

Good luck to you... If you're paying for health care, somebody's a$$ should be getting yelled at... My two cents.....
