My question is What are the default A Names for 123 reg's domain hosting? Hoping for any answer or 2. My 2nd question... Well, last night I spent about 40 minutes reading the drop list for today and chose about 45 names that I'd try to hand reg. Well, 2 PM EST time rolled around, and every 10 minutes for 2 and a half hours I bulk whois'd them at moniker. I didn't get a SINGLE one. Not one.......

It was an insanely frustrating day....

All 45....

Why are you bothering with a manual dropcatching -_-? This isnt the wild west anymore...

Try your list again in a fews days, tasters will drop some..

You're expecting these names to become available so you can hand reg. them?.

Hellooooo...anybody there?.

The only names you would get that way are those that no one wants...

There are PLENTY of people that hand reg excellent names in the drop. As to why I don't want to backorder, it's because I found MANY names that I'm sure are worth around 50 or 60 bucks, but I'm not certain they're worth anymore. Backording them could be fruitless...

I used think the way you are now and all I wanted were reg. fee domains but I learned it the hard way..

You see the ones that are being backordered normally worth more than they paid for..

It is true that you can find some good names that was dropped for reg. fee but it's like looking for a needle in a hay stack...

I think you've got that backwards. Trying to hand register drops is fruitless...

You could buy a registrar and you would have better luck trying to "Hand Reg" domains..

This process that you are trying, is called Drop Catching and is a Multi-Million dollar business. There is no such thing as hand regging fresh drops. These companies have multi-million dollars systems in place to catch domains. Even the domains that make No Sense get picked up and tested. Save your time and backorder one that is worth atleast $60, you will have better luck with it anyway...

Do you think any of the possibly valuable names I picked will be dropped by tasters for not having enough type in traffic?..

According to some people here, it is possible. But the tasting could go up to many times. If there are 5 tasters, then it will be 5 x 5 days = 25 days before it's dropped and no tasters grabbing it. Then you are free to hand reg it..

I am also following a domain, now tasting by a 2nd taster...

How do you know if it's a taster, and not just someone who bought it to resell?..

Check the whois "Creation Date". If the date keeps renewing like 27-8-2007, then 6 days later, creation date becomes 2-9-2007, this means the first taster has dropped the name, and is picked up by the 2nd taster. If on the 10-9-2007 you check the whois, and the "creation date" still remains as 2-9-2007, this means the person is keeping this domain...

I nerver successful in hand Reg for any interested Drop names..

Don't visit the site you want while it is being tasted. they are more likely to redrop it when it gets no traffic, right?..

Backorder never successful. Hand reg most of the times, I got it...
