Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I got an useful answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could give you help..
How does it work, do you specify files or does it iclude all that are listed????..
When you setup a product in admin look to the left menu there you will see prooduct attributes it is in here that you can specify the name of the file to be associated with the product for download, you can also set the expiry date and number of downloads from this point..
If you read the wiki docs a link to which is in my signature, there you will find the instructions on enabling and setting up of the downloads..

Okay, I've enabled downloads in the config area and set the product attributes accordingly. the /includes/config.php page shows the two lines recommended in your wiki pages. I don't understand what it means that "/catalog should be 777 and /pub should be 775..
In any event, I'm not getting an option to download the file, nor does it show up in the confirmation email. What am I missing?.
Okay, a quick addon for chgmod explanation:.
CHMOD refers to security associated for each directory under the Apache web server system. It's a setting that's stored as a system file and controls access to the specified folder..
There are two ways to change this setting. One is using command line of your operating system. The other is using some utility like webshell or ftp client that'll allow you to change the settings easily without the command line..
I have my system hosted from a commercial web server, so I use the ftp solution where, essentially, right-clicking the specified directory, you get to select option 'set permission'If you have your oscx running from your hard disk, then it'll be easier issuing the command from command prompt..
Assuming you're using the ftp method, the change permissions window is divided into three section/groups with titles :.
Owner, group & other.
Each of these groups has three check-boxes :.
Read,write & execute.
Each group corresponds to the CHGMOD nnn numeral positions. For example give CHGMOD 357 will mean grouping.
Has a security setting value of 3, grouping.
Is assigned 5 and grouping.
Is assigned security setting of 7..
Each number is actually represented by the combinations of checkbox values and correspond directly to security access levels. Since each grouping has three possible combination check-boxes, it goes that the possible values are 0 thru 7 (as in 2 to the power of 3) where 0 represents all three check-boxes left unchecked and assigned highest security setting, while a numeral 7 represents checking all boxes and is lowest security setting allowing all access to the respective group..
For example checking the first two boxes, results in the numeral representation 4;.
So CHGMOD 777 represents the command to be entered at command line to effectively allow maximum access (lowest security)..
Hope this clarifies the issue for you...
The shop that I am creating is a shop for industrial photography. I take pictures of buildings, sculpture etc and post them onto my site. The idea is that people who purchase my photography normally can go onto the sote, view my works and then pay to use them. I wish to do this via a download facility, ie they pay and recieve an email directing them to a part of the iPage site at which they can download the item. Once downloaded the link is then delted and so and and so forth. I have seen a download section in the admin area.
Thanks in advance..
The download section allows for download that can be set to only allow the download after payment is cleared. The download can be set to expire after a named number of days or and downloads...
