I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at iPage as they probably can help you..
Anyone able to find this??.
Searched with Windows Grep and still no luck...
Try the knowledge base you will find the answer there. Also, search the forums as this question has been answered before...
I will try the knowledge base as I have already attempted to search the forums with no luck. Thank you..
For those looking I beleive it is in catalog/includes/languages/*your language*/create_account.php..
No that create_account.php is only the e-mail for the welcome e-mail once you've created the account. It does not not contain the e-mail information for order success etc..
Still no luck whatsoever. I think it should be in the Checkout_Process.php file but there's only this..
Where exactly would the e-mail text go? Please someone help, I've tried the knowledge base www.oscommerce.info and it didn't help any. Perhaps I'm an idiot but I need the solution soon. Can anyone help please?.
The defines for the stock email is located in.
However, if you want to completely rework the email, add text or add additional information, you need to modify catalog/checkout_process.php file..
You'll find a variable called $email_order around line 223. You'll see how the email text is built line by line..
A bit of PHP knowledge was required but catalog/checkout_process.php is where I made my changes. (There's probably an easier way, but I could not find it.).
Always back up affected files before modifying them..
I made a comical little contribution called "email signature" that lets you add a signature to the canned text in the emails..
It also helps direct you to where the source for the emails is located, which is indeed surprisingly hard to find..
I've been looking for nary an hour now and I have not found where the source is for the the automated e-mails that a customer receives when they create a new account and when they place an order? How do I change the body of the e-mails to be more personal with more information about the store and future sales? Thank you for your help with this..
I have found the easiest way to learn where the files are which has text you want to change, is to use a program called 'windows grep' as it searches through all the files for what you dont know the exact file and location within the file. it works great, is quick at finding things. then you can edit them and change to your hearts desire...
