First of all What is a good iPage web host that supports Microsoft FrontPage? Thanks in advance for any answer. My other question... I have a question I hope someone can help me with, if not point me in the correct direction..

Basically what I want to do is let my customer build a "custom" order on the site. For example. I sell custom printed t shirts. I want the customer to be able to select shirt color, ink color, and sizes and quantities of those sizes..

Now, I know the shirt color and ink color is easy... I just created those attributes and enter the values... however, where it's tricky is the shirt sizes....

The sizes range from S-XXXXXL. Now, for S-XL, there is no extra charge, but for sizes over XL there are charges. I want to be able to let the user select the amount of shirts in those sizes and the cart automatically add that amount to the total. ( as well as input or select the number needed for S-XL.).

I debated, and I tried adding each one for each size then a quantity for each, and as you can imagine that would take forever and I would have a ton of attributes and it would get confusing..

Bottom line... I looked for attributes contributions, but I do not know which one will give me this functionality..

Does anyone know of a good way to do this or what contribution I should be looking for?.

I hope all of that made sense... because I just re-read it and my head is spinning. But then again, I've been manually entering attributes for a couple of hours while trying to come up with the best way to do this..

Any help would be great..

Thanks,.

Good question... I dunno what is the answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I bump into an decent answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably can answer it..

Wally,.

I presume what to do is add multiple quantities of multiple sizes without creating multiple products in your list?.

If so, I'm pretty sure you won't find that in the contributions but it is dooable!.

Good luck!.

Exactly How is this do-able? I for one would Love to know. I've been asking for this feature for quite awhile now. If you have an idea of how to accomplish this PLEASE share your Ideas...

I'll see if I can knock up a contri for this tomorrow/monday, it is a glaring omission from oscommerce!..

If you look for qtpro and master products (MS2 or by galen version) in contribution area you will find possible solutions, but I do think both actually create separate products in the database, but you don't necessarily need to show the slave products..

There are some very active support threads for these. Maybe post your question there to see which one would suit you better. They are generally rather big installations, make sure to backup first !..

Have looked at these and they just dont do what "we" are looking for. The idea is to keep in tact the one product and add quantity to the "size or Whatever attribute" then pass the info to the cart listing the different sizes in the cart and at the same time updating the Quantity total from the attribute array. If this makes sense..

With the contributions you are talking about it adds both the master and the slave product to the cart as 2 seperate items. And can be very confusing to the customer..

Simmy,.

If you can do this we will love you forever!.

Will keep checking to see if you can make this happen..

Thanks Guys and Gals..

WHEN I do, you can buy me a coffee next time I'm in california! (not that i've ever been there before)..

Thanks for all the feedback... I guess for now I will add them manually like I was talking about. I really need to get this up and running ASAP..

If someone comes up with a contribution for this that would be great!.

Thanks!..

Correct. I need them to be able to select muliple quantites... possibly up to 100 of each size... but I didn't want to enter all of those manually!! it will take a long time!.

If you come up with something that would be great!.

Thanks!..

Oops I must have given Simmy too much coffee. Haven't seen him around in a few days!..

The Master Products contribution only adds the slave product to the cart..

I use it in every install that I do...

Wally,.

When you add the attributes, you have the ability to add an additional charge. So you can add attributes in admin as:.

S.

M.

L.

XL.

XXL + 1.

XXL + 3.

Or whatever. You don't need a contribution, it's in the standard attributes page under admin..
