Good question... I dunno what is the right answer. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I find an decent answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could answer your iPage question..
PayPal IPN pre-populates all of the fields for you..
I know, because I contributed the code to do it in the IPN contribution...
Thanks Chris, good to know. There seem to be a few IPN contribs available - which one are you talking about? Also, do you know if the field-population will work in conjunction with the Purchase-Without-Account contrib?..
I'm frozen at v.9.6, wihc is not compatible with MS2.
Theoretically, it should, because until the customer actually checks out, there actually is an account created for the customer. The purchase without account deletes the account after the purchase (which btw, isn't really a very well thought out process, imo)..
This is the PayPal IPN I was planning on using:.
Is this the updated version of the one you're using?:.
It looks like this is the best IPN contribution to use. I haven't put it live yet, but so far it's been very easy to install and does everything I want it to. The ability to put the store logo on the PayPal page from within the admin area is a really nice touch. Nice work by the developer Gregory Baboolal. Thanks Greg!.
PayPal_Shopping_Cart_IPN 1.5 for MS2.
PayPal_Shopping_Cart_IPN Support Thread:.
The first post in this thread has some very handy payment icon graphics...
I'm re-designing my iPage site with OSC, using the PayPal and money order payment modules. (One of) my problem(s) is that the checkout process is so long with PayPal, between creating an account and password, entering billing/shipping info, and then doing the same on the PayPal site. This leaves room for user-error, nevermind just running out of time to complete the order..
I plan to install the two contributions.
Purchase without account.
And a paypal IPN module for order confirmation etc. but this still leaves the problem of re-entering customer data. I have read on the PayPal support iPage site of methods to populate the fields (assuming the customer doesn't already have a paypal account/cookie) but haven't been able to get them to work..
I'm running Apache 1.3.whatever and mysql on my own redhat server. If anyone knows how to post user data to a PayPal checkout form I would love to here about it..
Thanks in advance,..
Here's a link to an article which proposes a solution to this problem, but it's a little beyond me. Can anyone tell if this is current, and whether it may work in OSC?.
