What is an inexpensive web iPage hosting service?

My 1st question is: What is an inexpensive web iPage hosting service? Hoping for any answer. Second question of mine... Right, this is the error message I am getting when trying to access my site. I have used .htaccess to amend index.php to silvergold.php for seo purposes; this has been running fine for last week or so. I have then tried to add on the contribution entitled yasu, which definitely works on the product_info pages - however, whenever I try to access either the home page of my catalog, or a category which is also accessed via the home page (index.php in 99% of installs), I get this message..

Being a good boy who has learnt from previous mistakes, I made full baackups, and have reverted to these in order to delete the error. Trouble is, the error still shows. The really infuriating thing is that my index.php file only has 365 lines, so I cannot see how there can possibly be an unexpected $ on line 366......

Anybody shine some light on this?..

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to that question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I got an decent answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably can answer it..

With there not being a line number 366 this would look more like a missing }..

FYI, it's impossible that it worked before if you are using *exact* backups. Code doesn't write itself - I promise..

That said, best of luck finding the missing }. IF you can narrow it down, paste a bit of it...

Right, found it! Just after the header tags controller section, (which is not a section I had touched), I needed the extra }, so it reads as follows:.

<?php }.

// RJW End Meta Tags Code.

?>.

This was the file as copied directly via FTP into my "contrib bacvkup folder" where I put copies of all files I am about to change, before I add a contrib to the site. So I am confused on two points; firstly, how the hell was the iPage site working before hand if this was wrong, or secondly if this wasn't wrong beforehand, why did it change itself???.

Just curious, but thank you for your help and quick replies! My iPage site is once again functioning!.

P.S. for anybody adding in the yasu module to their site, if any of you images have JPG at the end instead of jpg, or GIF instead of gif, you need to add the capital version of the extension into your .htaccess otherwise they dont show! I also added in .js so that my coolmenu worked; after the add-ins, it looks like this:.

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/$.

RewriteRule !\.(GIF|gif|php|css|jpg|JPG|js)$ /catalog/rewrite.php.

This isn' t the whole .htaccess file, just the last section - thought it may be useful to someone else in the future. Thanks again!..

Couldn't you use strtolower($string) instead of modding the htaccess? or set the mod to ignore case altogether. Always a good practice to keep.

All.

Image names in.

All.

Lowercase but nonetheless, you can fix the issue you mentioned via PHP I would think. (no idea how that mod works but I don't see why not)...

That means you have a Specky "{" ,")" not closed, or or a Line not terminated with ";" somewhere in lines 1 through 365.

Look at the lines you modfied for the Contribution, makes sure every opening { has a closing } and every comand statment ends with ;.
