Question I have... What is and easy free iPage web host for a finished homemade website? Many thanks for any comment. Second question.. I have installed a SSL Certificate on our site. I noticed when you go through the shopping cart, for example. Lets say you click a buy button on https, the next page is suddenly http.

I can start out on a secure server and when you click to add or buy an item I am back on an unsecure server. How can this be fixed?..

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I discover an answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably can answer it..

For example, lets say the shopping session is not under a secure server, how would you do it to make the cart go to a secure server when obtaining customer information? Right now, if you shop on a regular server and then checkout, it still stays in an unsecure server, even when obtaining customer information...

How can you set it under a secure server when people log in or should it do it autmatically?..

If you set your ssl to true and set the correct ssl paths in your configure.php files it will work automatically...

I see. Where do you set SSL to true and how do you set SSL paths in configure.php. What do you change or what do you do?..

The settings are in catalog/includes/configure.php:.

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://localhost'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers.

define('HTTPS_SERVER', ''); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers.

define('ENABLE_SSL', false); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?.

And admin/includes/configure.php:.

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://localhost'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers.

 define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://localhost');.

 define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', '');.

define('ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG', 'false'); // secure webserver for catalog module.

You must put your secure server address at HTTPS_SERVER and HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER and set ENABLE_SSL and ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG to 'true'.

Matti..

All the pages are not setup to be secure. Only pages that involve customer information such as creating an account or checking out. That is the way osC works as there is really no reason you need to be on a secure page to add a product...
