I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer to your question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I bump into an answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could assist you..

Thanks Kiri. Don't see which code I might change in the header.php or configuration.php.

There must be a variable setting somewhere which goes to the root of the current iPage domain BUT I want to point to a different iPage domain altogether..

Thanks..

In catalog/includes/application_top.php look for:.

$breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_TOP, HTTP_SERVER);.

 $breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_CATALOG, tep_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT));.

The Top link is part of the breadcrumb trail and this is in catalog/includes/application_top.php.

$breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_TOP, HTTP_SERVER);.

$breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_CATALOG, tep_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT));.

Top normally points to HTT_SERVER which is defined in the configure.php you can change this link by changing the HTTP_SERVER part of the above code in a similar fashion to the one for CATALOG for more information do a search on breadcrumbs.

Thanks everyone for your assistance. Here's part of my configure.php.

Define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://mydomain.com');.

Define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://mydomain.com');.

Define('ENABLE_SSL', 'true');.

Define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'https://mydomain.com');.

Define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'https://mydomain.com');.

Define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/catalog/');.

Define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/catalog/');.

Define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/catalog/');.

If I changed.

Define:('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://mydomain.com');.

To:.

Define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://anotherdomain.com');.

It works.

BUT.

Then the Catalog in NOT found...

I did not say to change in the configure.php files but to change in the code that I posted..

Re read the post again it says to change the code in a similar fashion to the one for CATALOG.

$breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_CATALOG, tep_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT));.

So change.

$breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_TOP, HTTP_SERVER);.

To be.

$breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_TOP, whatever the link needs to be here);..

Steve, thanks for your patience. It IS appreciated..

I've just tried to do as you suggested, that is, changed.

$breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_TOP, HTTP_SERVER);.

To.

$breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_TOP, www.myotherdomain.com);.

But then, "Top" points to.

Https://mydomain.com...yotherdomaincom.

Thanks again..

Create a new entry into the filenames.php.

Define('FILENAME_CHANGE_HOME_PAGE', http://www.myotherdomain.com');.

And then modify the application_top.php code from:.

$breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_TOP, HTTP_SERVER);.

$breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_CATALOG, tep_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT));.

To.

$breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_TOP, tep_href_link(FILENAME_CHANGE_HOME_PAGE'));.

$breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_CATALOG, tep_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT));.

Thanks once again. Afraid that didn't work..

I'm assuming this line has a missing single-quote or an extra one (I tried them both).

And this too has an extra or missing single-quote (I tried with and without them).

I know you're trying to help me out and can't be thankfull enough. I notice many of the 'live' stores have removed the link so perhaps I will too if I can't get it working...

Comment #9

Define('FILENAME_CHANGE_HOME_PAGE', 'http://www.myotherdomain.com');.

And.

$breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_TOP, FILENAME_CHANGE_HOME_PAGE);.

Or even easier but hard coded.

No define in filenames.php and just the link in the application_top.php.

$breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_TOP, 'http://www.myotherdomain.com');..

Brilliant - THANKS a LOT Steve. I did the hard-coding and it worked right-off..

Thanks again for not giving-up on me and your patience...

I would like to change the "Top" link (at the top left of the osC front page) to point to a different iPage domain - can this be done?.

Thanks..

Comment #12

I belive that link points to a URL in the configuration file. But I'm not completely sure..

I'm sure you can edit the link manually by removing the code. I THINK the link can be found in the header.php file...
