Question I have... What is the best iPage web host for a dating web-site (im using vldpersonals)? Many thanks for any comment. Another question... Hi,.

Just installed the software and I need to configure the tax codes for the following..

If the purchaser is in Ontario, it charges 7% Fed and 8% provincial.

If the purchaser is in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland, it charges 15% fed tax.

If the purchaser is in Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon, Northwest Territories or Nunavut, it charges 7% fed tax.

If the purchaser is not in Canada at all, it does not charge any tax..

Is there a tutorial for setting up Canadian Taxes anywhere online..

Help....

Thanks.

Alex..

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I got an useful answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could help you..

Ok.. I did the Tax Zones and the Separate Tax. But now It doesnt look like it is calculating right. and It is only showing the GST for the item, not both taxes on a test customer...

Check to see if you product is configured for your GST/PST Class?..

Double check how you set up the taxes. I think you missed a step somewhere...

I re-entered all three of the links and am getting wierd calculations..

What I need it to do is calculate and show the breakdowns for PST if in Ontario, HST in the maritimes, and just GST for the Rest of Canada. Or nothing if the buyer is not in Canada..

Which step or module is best to do this with the breakdowns..

Thanks..

The problem with osC (as far as I have ever been able to figure out) is that a product can only have 1 tax class. So you could either do it the way you did or, charge GST "or" PST, "or" HST. But breaking them apart is not the way osC comes. You would have to code in a seperate second tax class for that..

I haven't played around with taxes too much though because all my products are zero rated for GST and PST exempt..

PM me and you can check out the way I have it set up..

Canadian Tax Display.

Canada Tax Zones Setup notes.

Canadian seperate tax.

Also look in the extras folder that comes with osC. It has a great tutorial on taxes..
