I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to that question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I got an anything. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could give you help..
Thanks for your help. We have a few more things to tweak and then we will be ready for a review of the site...
I know this will be simple once I understand it, but could explain this in minute detail, please..
I see that there are two configure.php files, one in admin/includes and one in catalog/includes.
I also see that there is a true/false flag (words actually) for use ssl..
The part I don't get is what goes in.
My iPage site is www.10kleather.com so would it be:.
And is that all?..
Experience tells me that it would be.
(spot the trailing slash).
On a related topic, changing the admin configure.php to use SSL works, but only for the front page - all the link to the other admin pages are still non-SSL..
I've checked the code, and the tep_href calls don't seem to allow for the possibility of the whole of admin being under SSL..
Is this right, or have I missed something..
Well, this sort of works. I still NEVER see the https... or the little lock icon in the bottom right, but I type an S after http in the address bar of the browser and THAT page is secured. But the pages after that are not showing secure. I would expect that when I get to the checkout page and the confirmation page that it is secure. What am I doing wrong?..
Not sure yet......
When I installed my certificate,.
Worked fine, and browsing was all non-SSL..
When I clicked on 'My Account', though, that is when the certificate kicked in and the lock went on. From then on, everything is fine - most things are still non-SSL, but checkout and everything under My Account are secure..
The things in includes/configre.php that I changed are:.
I'm pretty sure that was all I had to do..
How EXACTLY did you change them? I know I missing something that is very small, but without details I and everyone else reading this will never find it. Please post your hunk of code...
This is what I have done:.
Define('ENABLE_SSL', true); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?.
Does this look right?..
Not saying it's right, but it's what I've got. Other than that, looks OK...
I am glad to see my question has generated so much discussion. Thank you so very much. I learn something new everytime I enter the forum. Now that I have my certificate configured I have two urls directed to my catalog admin area. The.
States that the iPage site is secured and the.
States that the iPage site is unsecured. I have the catalog admin password protected, but my client has concerns that the.
States that the iPage site is unsecured..
I have tried to redirect the unsecured admin page back to the index page but it redirects both the http and https catalog admin pages. Is it a default of the program to keep the http admin page once the iPage site has been secured? How can this be corrected?.
Thanks in advance!..
Nope. Someone has to actually have a store that works. What code are you using in your configure.php file in the catalog/includes folder?..
Can I jump in on this one! I have just installed my certs in a directory called 'ssl' on my server. Does this mean that I need to copy entire store into that directory or just certain files required for checkout etc...
I have read through most of the threads and am still non the wiser!.
I really need to get the ssl working asap, my ssl certs are in folders like so.
What I dont know is how to set the configure.php's to use them. Would someone who has done this please respond asap..
This is my configure.php file:.
// Define the webserver and path parameters.
// * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical).
// * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL).
define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://24-7mobileaccessories.co.uk'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers.
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://24-7mobileaccessories.co.uk'); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers.
define('ENABLE_SSL', true); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?.
I am finishing my first osCommerce store and I need help configuring my SSL connection. We have the merchants account and a SSL certificate. How do I make the connection to protect customer information in the shopping cart during the ordering process? Please help, my client is eager to go live with the site..
Thank you, thank you, thank you!..
You need to install the ssl certificate onto the site, you need to contact your host for the procedures they require you to use for proper installation. then you will need to modify your configure.php files to reflect ssl, by enabling ssl and setting the path for the https server..
