That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer. I'll do some research and get back to you if I find an anything. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could assist you..
Thanks for the info. I still have some more questions though:.
Is First Data Corp the same entity as Wellsfargosecure.com?.
I went to the Wells Fargo iPage site and saw this:.
Internet Merchant Account Pricing.
One-Time Set-up Fee - $99.00.
Monthly Service Fee - $29.00.
Payment Gateway Fee - Included.
Online Reporting - Included.
Statement Fee - $2.00.
Discount Rate: Visa,MasterCard - 2.35%.
Per Authorization Fee - $0.30.
Address Verification Fee - $0.01.
Chargeback Fee - $15.00.
Optional Features Set Up Fee Monthly Fee.
Verisign Link $14.95 $9.95.
Verisign Pro $39.95 $29.95.
Authorize.net $40.00 $20.00.
It says that for a one-time fee of $99 and monthly fee of $29, "Payment Gateway Fee" is included..
However, at the bottom in "Optional Features", it says "Authorize.net" is $40 setup + $20 monthly. Do I need to buy this also, or is this something else?..
My contact with that company is Maria - her direct line is 877-857-2650. From what I understand, First Data and wells fargo are the the same company, and they are much cheaper than just the Authorize.net published rates of $199 setup fee + 10/mo & 10cents/transaction..
There's not actually any charge for authorize.net in their fees, theres also not the $2/mo statement fee listed on the iPage website - just call to get the best rages over the phone...
Oh ok, thanks. I guess human hookup can still beat published iPage website prices.
I think I'll give Maria a call. If she goes "How did you get my number?" or asks me who referred me to her, what should I tell her? Your first name or maybe www.yourstore.com? If you want to reveal it, of course..

Yeah, that's fine - I've been talking for her for the last couple of days to get some info about our switchover..
How much does it cost to set up a merchant account for accepting credit card payments?.
I guess Authorize.net is what most people use? How much do they charge?.
If you contact First Data Corp. you can get a merchant account, and the authorize.net gateway for less than just the gateway directly through authorize.net - go to wellsfargosecure.com to get more info. They seem to have very competitive rates, and great customer service. I'm just about to switch over to using them..
