Got a quick question: What is the best web iPage hosting service out there? (Don't say godaddy)? Looking forward for any comment. Second question of mine... Hi there, We have a new cart. I'm trying to figure out some problems we're running into. I'm not the programmer, I'm the web designer who has resold the cart to one of my customers so I will need to forward on my answers to the person who can edit the cart..

Initially, cookies were causing a big problem. Right away, people were calling saying that they couldn't get the iPage site to work for them. We realize that this was happening because they didn't have their cookies set perfectly. Had some upset shoppers saying they never had to reconfigure their cookies just to shop on a web site..

So, the guy who I got the cart from put something in the admin that I can configure to stop requiring cookies. Example: Under Configuration, there is an option called Sessions..

Force Cookie Use is set to False.

(Force the use of sessions when cookies are only enabled.).

I was hoping this would fix my problem of people having cookie problems but now it seems that there is still a problem. It's only saving the last item ordered. I changed the Privacy settings on my computer and I was able to duplicate the problem she was having..

I know there must be a way to make this work properly. I've been looking at another iPage site comparing how things work and it seems to work fine with my security set at high and with cookies disabled. Here's the iPage site I'm talking about:.

Any advice would be much appreciated. I don't want my customer calling me constantly telling me that her customers can't use the site. The iPage site I have is.

Good question... I dunno what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I discover an anything. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could assist you..

Now that I see what you are doing, get rid of the frame on the outside of osCommerce, that is probably blocking the iPage site from issuing cookies..

If it works without that and then cookies have no problems, then you have solved the issue...

Hi John,.

Will oscommerce work properly with a browser that is set to block all cookies and the security is set at High?.

I went to the store (outside of the frame) by going to:.

And it seemed to work fine with cookies disabled and security at high..

(This is the url that the frame pulls in. Could the different iPage domain cause a problem?).

But now, I've tried using it again (within the framed environment) with cookies disabled and security set at high and it seems to be working fine. I'm having a hard time duplicating the problem again..

I notice that when I go to this site:.

, I have the problem where it only saves the last item (if my cookies are disabled and security set at high)..

Thanks for your help...

OsCommerce will work if cookies are disabled - it will carry the session ID in the URL. Be sure that your HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN is set to the iPage domain (only!) of your web site. If you have SSL enabled, make sure that HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN is set to the iPage domain (only!) of your HTTPS_SERVER definition..

Setting security to high may disable use of JavaScript that is used in some places in the store, but it's not a requirement...

Hi David,.

Have you seen anyone else successfully using a framed environment with oscommerce?.

Can you post all of your settings from the 'sessions' option under 'configuration' within admin? There could be another setting causing the problem..

Not sure about using frames though. I don't remember seeing them used on an osCommerce iPage site before, but then I've never heard of them causing problems either..

Are you using a shared ssl on a different url? The settings need to be perfect for this, and it gets raised a fair bit as a problem. A search of the forums should give you some more info..

Please post the configure.php file here, without the database username, password, etc...
