Measuring is for pussies..

I owned a restaurant for 20 yrs. I cook the way my mother taught me and I don't think she even owned a measuring cup...

Look out...here it comes...a Men's Room Response in.

Yes Damon, and here you are today on NutriSystem thanks to your excellent measuring system. Ouch. Sorry man...you set that one up like a pretty set of 10 pins...

OOOOOooooooo.... that was cold...... true, but cold..... My problem is I can't see the danged marks on the measuring cup without my reeding glasses, and I'm usually not willing to go hunt for them, So,,,, I use Damons method of measuring..... works pretty well most of the time.....

LOL True! I did get my fatass from NOT measuring serving sizes. No argument there..

I was meaning more along the lines of pancake, cornbread, grits, biscuits and other dry/wet mixtures. And I still say measuring is for pussies. (except for puberty and then, of course, every man measures)...

Since we're being so kind to each other I was wondering how using 1/4 cup of milk instead of 1/3 cup of milk would make the pancakes runny. Isn't 1/4 cup less than a 1/3 cup?..

Too runny = crepes = French = Too runny.

It's and Infinite Loop !!..

If you put 1/3 of a cup of milk in a batch of powder meant for only 1/4 cup, then you have too much milk for the amount of mix...

Dang Jeff! Welcome back bud..

French also = creeps .... That's Infinite loop's cousin, once removed...

It's good to be back .. trying to climb back on this horse.......

Well, that's true, but you wrote it the other way around. And, my packets call for 1/4 cup of milk...

Not to beat a dead horse, but all the NEW packages say 1/4 cup, while the OLD packages called for 1/3 cup. If you have the kind of nuclear winter stash of crap in your closet that I do, these packages become intertwined!..

I probably have 100-150 packages (bought at Big Lots) and use to make muffins in quantity. Then I freeze them for future use. So I use the recipe put on line here and dont worry about it..

I'm not smart enought to change anything. I just have to multiply by the number of packages I use. My neighbor had to come over and show me how to pre-heat my over, so don't ask any questions on this process..

And before you ask..................

***********************************.

Chocolate Chip Muffins.

1 package N.S. Chocolate Chip Pancake Mix.

1/3 cup Milk (as directed on package).

1 TBS Flour.

1/4 tsp. each Baking Soda and Baking Powder.

Mix all ingredients and divide between 2 muffin cups, that have been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes..

Plain N.S. Pancake mix, add 1 chopped Nutri-Chocolate to the batter, or add 1/2 of a banana.

Use the N.S. Blueberry Pancake Mix for Blueberry Muffins...
