Question I have... What's a good domain and iPage web host? Thanks in advance for any answer. Second question.. I notice many sites customize osCommerce to how they want it, they also remove the banner at the bottom of the page and sometimes remove the text that read "Powered by osCommerce" I was just wondering if this was allowed. I know some shopping cart systems do allow you to remove their name and copyrights, but you have to pay like $50 or so. Thanks..

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the right answer. I'll do some research and get back to you if I got an useful answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could help you..

So If I decided to make my own Music store, I can customize it how I wish and even remove all osCommerce copyrights at the bottoms of the page etc?.

And have just Copyright 2004 mysite all rights reserved...

Bingo... Xero... since I'm also in the music biz, whats' your store geared towards?..

Pretty much like that - but the copyrights must stay in the admin section.

Search this website, there are several longer posts about this topic..

The general idea is if you make enough changes to the standard "look", you can remove the copyright notice, which covers the look of the pages. It's requested that you keep the "Powered by osCommerce" there, but there is nothing to prevent you from removing it, other than that some members of this forum won't help you or will express displeasure if it's not there...

With OSC, you can remove and change anything you like... the only stipulation is if you decide to distribute it, you must include documentation basically stating that you are not taking credit for the core install of OSC under the GNU licensing...
