I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I find an useful answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably can help you..
Thats interesting. I cant log into your store without being 'approved' so it would seem, so I cant see exactly what's happening, but am I to assume that all of this is part of the contribution, - and that I can add multiple items to the cart at once like this?.
If so, that's definitely what Im looking for & thanks!.
Oh, you dont need to log into the store to view items, only to purchase them. Also, I sent you an email through our store not realizing who you were, you can ignor that. Yes, you can add multiple products to the cart. They just have to change the quantities from 0 and they will be put into the cart. If a product has a lot of slaevs and they are not shown on the same page, you can only put the ones from that page into the cart at the same time..
Excellent many thanks. Just one quick question - did you use Master Products MS2 or Master Products by Galen? I was thinking of going for the MS2, but hard to tell, they sound fairly similar....
Thanks for your help..
Im wondering about the master products by Galen vs Master Products MS2 myself. Installed the mp by Galen, but now am not happy because it still isnt what I needed..
There is an example in ms2 which is what I need. Realized I downloaded a different contrib..
Has anyone got info on this? Which is better? Now in the dillema of uninstalling one to try the other. How do I uninstall on the sql... I know I will have to go line by line, but just not sure about the sql..
Thanks for the great work..
I used master products and modified it pretty good to get the attributes to show up like they did. Scan through the contrib help thread which is huge I am in there somewhere around page 60 I think talking about the changes with another member...
I've been given the fairly large task of modifying oscommerce to cope with some advanced stock control for product attributes. Eg. An item in green is only available in certain sizes, whilst an item in blue is available in other sizes etc. Plus each option has to have it's own stock figure (eg. We have 5 green in size 11, 4 green in size 2 etc)..
And if that's not enough, they want customers to be able to purchase multiples of this from one page (Eg. I'll have 4 blue ones in size 9 and 2 green in size 11) - with one button. I've manually jigged product_info to do this bit, but the size of the task is stretching out before me, and Im wondering if anyone else has attempted this / if there's anything I can base it on? I've had a look through the contributions, but can't find anything that will obviously allow this..
I'll certainly upload it as a contribution once done, but hoping I can base it on something else first, or if anyone has any great ideas about how this can be done.. um.. much appreciated!.
Use master products, a green item will be a slave to the master so then you can set up attributes for each slave item seperatly so if the green item can only be sold in 4 sizes you can set that up while the blue item can be sold in 15 sizes. Its easy using master products and easy populate and even option type attributes contrib. Check out my iPage site below, I have lots of products (esp in Color Stone Rings) that have slaves and all the slaves may or may not have different attributes than each other)..
No need to reinvent the wheel..
