Quick question... What's better Nutrisystem or weight watchers? Looking forward for any response. 2nd question I got is.. Hey Guys,.

I'm a newbie and will be away from home for the next few days. So far, I've been on program and haven't had to deal with non Nutrisystem food. I'll be with relatives. Any advice on how to keep from gaining back what I've lost so far? Thanks!..

Good question... I dunno what is the answer to that question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I find an answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably can help you..

STAY ON PROGRAM. Follow the flex menu. (I meant to take Nutrisystem up to my mom, but forgot to. So will be spending next 2-3 days "flexing", myself.).

Breakfast: dairy, protein, fruit, 2 carbs.

MS: dairy or protein, fruit.

Lunch: 2 proteins, 2 veggies (2 tbsp ff allowed), 2 carbs, fat.

AS: dairy or protein, fruit.

Dinner: 4 proteins, fruit or veggie, veggie (2 tbsp ff allowed), carb, 2 fats.

Dessert: dairy, carb.

Just make it simple and have a lean turkey sandwich for lunch and a salad with measured lite or regular dressing (fat portion), for dinner have a half pound of shrimp or a quarter pound of other lean meat along with what you normally have. Should be able to figure out snacks and breakfast..

Just treat the whole thing like you do the add-ins. Measure and follow the program. There's no excuse for "wondering how much damage you will do". You don't have a special weekend chit for being off the program. You are supposed to keep following the program, just not use Nutrisystem entrees..

Your book planner has all the info on what is a protein, etc. at the back of it...

All good advice above to which I would add, keep your alcohol consumption to 1 drink a day. When I have gotten into trouble that is the one rule I broke..

Plus, Daily participation(posting and lurking) on the Boards is a proven weight loss tool. Keep a list of the tools that work best for you and USE them. The right tool for the right job..

Best of luck, but you won't need it if you follow the plan to the letter..

Ps. Log your food daily, that keeps you accountable to yourself...

Pack a bunch of Nutrisystem stuff. It travels well. Use it for meals you're not compelled to eat "their" food. We've done a lot of that and take extra to "share" with our hosts. They are usually open to experiencing it out of curiousity. Makes for interesting dinner conversation re: calorie/protein, etc content of various foods..

Thanks for the input. I'm back at this point and didn't do too badly..

I'll be back on my Nutrisystem food plan on Thursday. I left before I got responses, so I did my best. I feel good about avoiding deserts... did not take extra helpings... drank lots of water... avoided the late night ice cream helpings...

I could have done better on the alcohol, but... oh well!..

I lost 11 lbs in my first 2 weeks on NS.


I took a 5 night holiday with family at a luxury resort ... came back to find I gained 8 of those lbs back. So-o-o-o discouraging..

How in the world could I gain 8 lbs in 5 days?! Was most of my Nutrisystem loss over 2 weeks mainly water loss?.

I followed Nutrisystem with the pkgs I took for most breakfasts and lunches, but really screwed up on dinners where I went all, steaks, and all. Stupid me, as I feel I've wasted money on Nutrisystem for the first two weeks..

Now I'm back on Nutrisystem again for two days .. no problem getting back on, but worried about.


Week long hotel holiday in NH first week in Sept....and.


Week in Paris the first week of October..

When it comes to eating out on vacations I'm having a tough time with motivation...

Most of those 8 lbs are water weight and will fall off in a week if you stick to the program. Just get back on the horse and ride. I've actually come to accept and expect an 8 lb "bounce" if I go off-plan for a few days. It's not a real weight gain unless you make it one..
