Got a question, hope someone can answer... What's the difference between a iPage hit counter and google analytics visitor tracking? Hoping for any answer or 2. My 2nd question... Hello,.

I just can't seem to find the code to change the name of the box text. I want to change Catagories to Themes and Manufactuers to Author's Last Name, but can't find the info...thought I had it in the Wiki docs, but it only shows how to remove the text all together or change the style. Can someone post the actual text that needs to be changed to change the Catagories to what I have above? and which file to find it in?.

Thanks so much,.

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I discover an answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could give you help..

Thank you Thank you!!.

I would have never of thought to look there!.

That's what so hard about this..it isn't the real changes to be made they are easy ... it's figuering out WHERE the files are that contains the info. I have printed charts and list and everything and I still can't find were things are located!.

Thanks again!.

Any time you want to change the wording of something, look in the language files first..

Remember this and it'll save you tons of headaches in the long run..

Ok, how about the content area..the text? I know where it is and how to access the file to make changes, but I'd like to add a picture to the top center before the text starts...I don't have a clue how to do that with php (I could with html :-) ..

Also, when I changed the size for the column width, it changes both sides, left & right...I don't want my customers to have to scroll over to view the page, is there a way to correct this by changing the width of the area that the text is in?.

Does any of that make sense???.

I get in my head what I want to do, but getting it out into words ain't easy!.

Thanks!.

That's what I get for working while I try to watch Angel!.

That's the default page...I"d like to place a pic in the top middle area between the columns before the text starts ...make sense?.

Thanks again!..

Open index.php and find: [CODE<?php.

} else { // default page.

?>.

<td width="100%" valign="top"><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">.

<tr>.

<td><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">.

<tr>.

<td class="pageHeading"><?php echo HEADING_TITLE; ?></td>.

</tr>[/CODE].

Add this section right after that:.

<tr>.

       <td><?php include(DIR_WS_BOXESFILENAME_FEATURED_PRODUCT); ?></td>.

     </tr>.

So it should appear between the heading (title) and the customer greeting (begining of body text)..

I"m sorry (again) is that for the image placement or the column width problem??..

No sorry, I posted an answer for a different post....

The answer is coming..

I did it, but nothing happened... might have done it wrong tho..i'll try it again in the morning :-).

Thanks!..

LMAO!!!.

What's it going to do to my Page??? LOL !!! Hope it doesn't make dirty pictures appear or anything!.

LOL !!!!..

No sorry, I posted an answer for a different post....

} else { // default page.

?>.

<td width="100%" valign="top"><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">.

<tr>.

<td><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">.

<tr>.

<td class="pageHeading"><?php echo HEADING_TITLE; ?></td>.

</tr>.

Add what you like directly after the above code and it will add it in between the heading and greeting.

Rather than controlling the width of the center section (body) control your page width, it's much easier..

LOL !! It must be late!! My problem is, that I don't know WHAT to add....I don't know the code for adding a photo, except for html code. I"ll take another look in the morning.

About the other change..I had saved the file before I made the changes and when I uploaded the file again, I uploaded the wrong file, so I never changed a thing!! LOL !!! No wonder there wasn't anything different.

Oh, my this technology stuff is mine boggling !!.

Must get sleep.... Must get sleep!!.

LOL !!.

I'll work more on it tomorrow~.

Thanks!.

Look in catalog/includes/languages/english.php.

Change these two lines....

// categories box text in includes/boxes/categories.php.

Define('BOX_HEADING_CATEGORIES', 'Categories');.

// manufacturers box text in includes/boxes/manufacturers.php.

Define('BOX_HEADING_MANUFACTURERS', 'Manufacturers');.

If your iPage site supports other languages, you will need to make the same change in each language file (espanol.php, german.php, etc...).

That should do it...
