I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I find an decent answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably can help you..
Let me begin by saying thanks for the reply..
Unfortunately, I have too many products that are of limited availability which I must keep stock count of..
After it reports -1 and removes the product from the listing, I change the quantity back to the actual amount available yet it still goes to negative one after a sale. I've tried changing the quantity to 9999 and as soon as someone purchases the product, it changes to -1..
Something has to be screwy in the database. At least thats my two cents but I really dont know what to look for...
The file you want to check is checkout_process.php - this is where an order is deducted from stock - around:.
If ((DOWNLOAD_ENABLED != 'true') || (!$stock_values['products_attributes_filename'])).
$stock_left = $stock_values['products_quantity'] - $order->products[$i]['qty'];.
Also once you have sorted your problem the contrib in my sig re low stock email maybe beneficial to you ? .

I'm running just a few mods....
Featured Products, UPS shipping, and ECHO payment..
Everything worked fine a couple of months ago..
I have a big problem with my Oscommerce installation. I’ve been running my OSC shop for about a year without any problems. Recently, I have noticed that many of my products are being marked as out of stock and removed from the product listing (they get the red dot). When I check the product quantity in the admin, I find the quantity as “-1”, that is negative one..
It wasn’t until recently that I noticed that it was only happening on products that have an attribute associated with them. For instance, I offer glue with a selection option of light, medium, or dark. Regardless of which color you purchase, it changes the available quantity to –1 when the checkout is complete..
I’ve repaired and optimized the database without any luck..
I have also looked through the database for anything unusual but haven’t seen anything odd..
Since many of my products have product attributes, I have to manually check my inventory after every purchase to make sure the stock is still available..
Any suggestions would be tremendously appreciated. I’m really stuck on this one..
Thanks a million..
Just turn off stock. Don't have oscommerce keep stock and your problem will disappear. Otherwise, you have to keep adding stock as stock is decremented. If you use the software to keep stock, but never fill the stock the problem you have described will happen...
