My question is Which iPage web host would be best for me? Looking forward for any answer or 2. 2nd question I got is.. Dear all, I have here some general questions with regards to configuring osCommerce. They are as follows..

1) Under Localization -> Currencies, do I have to click on the 'update currencies' button frequently so that the store will reflect the latest rate or is it only to be used when a new currency is added?.

2) For all fields that ask for the weight, what is the unit used (kilograms, grams, lbs or ozs)?.

3) For the real-time shipping rate from UPS, does it work if the shop is from Singapore or is it only for the US local addresses?.

That is all I have for now. All help is greatly appreciated..

Thank You..

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to that question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I discover an decent answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably can answer it..

Okay, I think I am answering my own question again. After much reading, I am assuming that the currencies in osCommerce does not update itself automatically. I have to either, click on "update currencies" manually all the time or I could install the undermentioned file..

Currency update.

That leaves question no. 1 partly answered and question no. 3 unanswered. Please help..

Thank You..

Yes, it's true. I am answering my own question again after doing some extensive reading up. For question no. 2, it can be answered as follows..

Step 1) Open /catalog/includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/zones.php.

Step 2) Look for the line which says; lb(s)..

Define('MODULE_SHIPPING_ZONES_TEXT_UNITS', 'lb(s)');.

Step 3) Change it to whatever that you like. In my case, I would like to use; gram(s). So now, the code should look like this..

Define('MODULE_SHIPPING_ZONES_TEXT_UNITS', 'gram(s)');.

Done! That leaves question no. 3 still unanswered...

Hey, you're most welcomed. Glad I was able to help..

Although, I need help myself..

Wish I could add this somewhere so that newbies like me won't keep asking the same question over and over again as they can't find their answers anywhere other than searching and searching through the forum. Maybe it should go into the Knowledge Base?..

Okay, I have solved question no. 2 after doing up some reading but one thing still baffled me. I understand that the unit of measurements is not important here as long as I am using the same unit of measurements throughout and if I had enable Zone Rates in the Shipping Modules, they have to tally. But why does the customer sees the weights appended with lb(s) at the Shipping Method of the Delivery Information page as they checks out their cart? Is there any way I can change this to show gram(s) instead of lb(s)?.

I still have not found the answer for question no. 1 and no. 3. Please do help me if you know..

Thank You..
