I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to that question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I got an good answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could give you an answer..
This is what I did, but it still came up with an error. Could it be down to permissions on the folders etc?.
Does anyone have the permissions for the program, as I cant find the manual..
Have you been editing the file locally, and not on the server? if you are editing on the server, the proper way is via the *nix shell..
The permissions are in the manual as well as the installation instructions which are downloaded with the osCoommerce software...
I edit them via the admin panel, so I cant understand y I cant edit them correctly..
Do not do this!! You will get errors just about everytime. Edit the files locally and then ftp them back up to your server...
Can normal HTML code be put in between the 'TEXT_MAIN',.
'HTML CODE and description.
Ahaaaaa done it, thanx ppl. like you sed had to edit it on local machine then FTP it..
You must give the file a 777 permission end than you can edit in the os admin!.
I have tried and tried to change the default text on the welcome screen to what I want to say, but everytime it comes up with:.
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /content/StartupHostPlus/c/o/www.computek2000.co.uk/web/catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php on line 14.
How do you change the text??? I want to get rid of everthing that is default on the page but cant!.
You need to edit 'catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php'.
Look in the code and find, define('TEXT_MAIN', xxxxxxxxx '); xxxxxxxxx will be the current html on your page just delete this and replace with your own text, just make sure there's no inverted commas in your text [ ' ] or you'll get an error..
