Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I discover an good answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could assist you..
W3c validator told me to put one for xhtml 1.0 transitional..
It's like this for XHTML:.
<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://www.boomspeed.com/boxcarmember/etcsite.css" type="text/css" />..
Ok I tried moving the type="" and I tried it with and without the </link> and still no go but the weird thing is is that <h1 class="title" works but the tables dont???..
Don't use </link>... look at my previous post, with the slash added at the end. The slash is the proper way of closing the <link> tag in XHTML...
Tried that too arctic dragon but that didnt work either everything else but the tables work from the css like scrollbar font etc just nothing in the table.*..
Have you tried the.
? A small error or typo may be causing the problem..
I'd check the HTML code too. (.
Yes I have checked it many times.
The scrollbar attribute I was told is not w3c standard and to not really worry about it but could the warnings have someting to do with it?.
And my html seems fine.
I dont understand the 2 error and if I take the td tag out on error 3, the tables will not be setup correctly..
You are missing a </td> tag..
That should take care of errors 2 and 3..
Just a tip, you can combine all of the background attributes into one line:.
The CSS seems to be loading for me...
I think your signature is too long dork133.
It is all on one line and I have checked it carefully twice and there isnt a missing </td> tag maybe I am sjust overlooking..
Essentially, all I did was move the red </td> to fix the nesting error that the validator was finding..
As for the "background" stuff in your CSS. I was simply showing you the shorthand property. The way you have it written out works. It is correct. Each background property is defined individually. Those individual declarations can be combined into one shorthand property..
All three of the above CSS declarations accomplish exactly the same thing. I'm not telling you that you need to change your current CSS code, just giving you some more information...
O ok and hanx for fixing my html code.
Now you got any idea about why the table part of my css wont execute?..
What are you talking about? the only table tha tI see that uses the nav class is this.
And it works just fine. and if you are not using XML than take the XHTML doctype out. that may be your problem. also not sure why you used a <h1> tag when all you did was dumb it down and make the font small and bold. a <h1> tag is used for headings and you just used it for text..
The table css should be the least of your worries, you have a page in the iframe that don't work, you have empty tables on the right of the iframe tht don't have anything in them, most browsers won't reneder those if empty...
"g0774 |\/|4|<3 5u|23 |\/|y 51g|\|47u|23 15|\|'7 70 10|\|g 50 1 d0|\|'7 g0 4g41|\|57 7|-|3 57u|*1d, |21d1<u10u5 51g|\|47u|23 gu1d311|\|35....g4y".
"Gotta make sure my signature isn't to[o] long so I don't go against the stupid, ridiculous signature guidelines....gay".
You're messing with the wrong guys here, most of us like standards and rules..
Well spotted rydberg, I was looking at that and thinking that it wasn't random enough to be nothing!.
Gj rydberg impressive.
Im just saying I think it is a bit ridiculous that people cant have what they want in there signature, I agree huge big pictures or novels in the signature isnt respectful to other people especially if they are on a slow connection but putting limits on it like 5 lines and 3 lines and 80 px high is a bit obsurd in my opinion, it is just a signature.
And sorry about my new signature I was tired and having girl problems and I took it out on you guys I understand the whole signature problem I just think your guidelines are abit too strict, I mean all mine was was my computer specs.
And scout I have the template setup with my tables I have not added info in there and what exactly is xml, and what is it used with, I am trying to learn xhtml..
That is my point, you don't have info in there. some browsers will not render the table with no info. also xml is dynamic. well I can't really tell you as I have had no reason to use it, but it lets you use your own tags to make stuff up, primarily for database stuff. never really looked into it. but if you are not using it than that doctype is not working and messing up the browser..
And as for the wrong doctype I was looking at w3schools and it told me to use that doctype, but since it is messing up the browser, and I want to use xhtml, what do I do for the doctype..
See the doctype on this page? use that one. just view the source of the forums and take the first line..
Ok guys sorry it has been awhile but I figure dout what the problem was with the help of scruff, apparently you need or at least I did a border-style attribute so I added border-style: solid to my css and that fixed it thanx again for your help and sorry for starting off on the wrong foot and being a jerk..
Glad I was able to help. And, uhh... Sorry if I was a bit of a jerk too..
You know, why you are at it get rid of the font tag. they are deprecated and shouldn't be used. I mean if you want to go and use xhtml then you might as well go all the way...
