Got a quick question: Who is a good Web iPage hosting service for an online store? Thanks in advance for any answer or 2. Second question of mine... Is there a program I can use to open and edit, add, delete modify etc the database products, categories etc for the oscommerce sql database. Prefer a freeware program but if you know of something that does the job please tell me..

I have tried ith MS Access 97 , Visual C but none of my programs have a decoder for this script. I prefer a GUI because I make may typos when I write so a GUI is better than going into the SQL text...

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to that question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I bump into an useful answer. You should email the people at iPage as they probably could help you..

Yeah well, I am paying for osCommerce on a weekly basis to be running at my iPage domain without any support from the provider. So when it comes down to paying money for this obscenity it gets a little frustrating. I have three days and two have aleady passed to get this setup. my email is make sure you put in the subject heading "EDITOR FOR OSC"..

I am after a tool to edit the products and categories, modify them etc offline the editor that comes with osCommerce is too slow. Have no time to learn how to upload and run another half baked idea like the OSC editor found at.

I am not interested at this point in the opensource element of the program, however, that does not mean I am selfishly seeking somone to solve my problems. I would gladly be writing an Open source editor for this if I knew about ODBC SQL PHP etc..

Heck it should have been one of the first tools developed. How one earth can you sit there and add 3000 products to 100 categories? I tried to get three people to log on at the same time and only one ata time could log on to use the admin tool, I tried a 12hr shift after my work 8hr shift and I aint even 1/4 way through heck I only have 100 products after nearly 12hrs because of the time it takes to modify, edit and spell check etc every god-damn product and category description and details. OK realistically, 4 hrs were wasted on the learning curve needed to position products categories and finding out what dimension the pics need to look good etc..

So if anyone has a solution PLEEEAAASE email me for third party solutions otherwise point me in the right direction even if you can help withat half baked idea found at.

Admin-add, edit ......

Thanks in advance...

If you haven't the patience then, I personally would recommend that you pay someone to do the work for you.

Oscommerce is Free & open source so don't expect anything to be given to you on a plate !..

Use easypopulate which will load up an excel spreadsheet, you can modify, add products then reupload..

Hi. Where can I find instructions on how to do that? I don't know much about DBs, but I do have phpMyAdmin thru cPanel, but have no idea on how to speed things up and load stuff to DB. Can anyone give me some hints, please?.

TIA...

The current version of osc allows you to move a product or link a product to another category very easily..

For your application, you need to read the forum rules regarding commercial posts here, as that is not allowed. if you discuss an application here, per forum rules it must be made available to the community at no charge...
