Question I have... Why do everyone go for iPage.com for hosting? Thanks for any comment. Second question.. In the contribution Links Manager, the links.php file serves to display either the link categories or the links themselves. I want to add a buuton on the page when the links are being displayed that will take me back to the categories part of the page. When the categories are displayed, the url ends in link.php.

If I am displaying the links and try to go to the categories page by linking to links.php, it doesn't work. It just stays on the same page.

Can anyone tell me how to reset the flag so that I can re-display the categories part of this page?.

 if (isset($HTTP_GET_VARS['lPath'])) {.

   $lPath = $HTTP_GET_VARS['lPath'];.

   $current_category_id = $lPath;.

   $display_mode = 'links';.

 } elseif (isset($HTTP_GET_VARS['links_id'])) {.

   $lPath = tep_get_link_path($HTTP_GET_VARS['links_id']);.

 } else {.

   $lPath = '';.

   $display_mode = 'categories';.

 }.

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I discover an anything. You should email the people at iPage as they probably know..

Thanks for the code Steve but I was looking for a way to go to the links.php page. If a visitor is looking at links in category 1 and wants to go to a new category, there is no easy way for him to do so now. Your way works if they enter via the categories page but that may not always be the case..

OK Jack I obviously dont understand as I have tested the back button code I gave and as you say all links are shown within categories so thus end links.php?lpath=.

The back button is only on pages ending in links.php?lpath= and this back button takes you to links.php without the lpath.

The links.php page is the page that holds all the categories and any category chosen from this page will have the link path or ?lpath= extention added to links.php.

If someone is to enter other than by the links.php base file itself then the path will be links.php?lpath= and from any ?lpath= there will be a back button to the links.php base which holds the categories..

This is all provided that they have been somewhere in order to pick up there session id if they have not picked up a session id then they cannot go directly to an lpath they will get redirected to the links.php base where the categories are..

Is this last part what is happening to you.

Jack further to my last post I have now tested this by making direct links to an lPath= and the back button is there to take you to categories the thing you need to make sure of is that when linking that you use.

Links.php?lPath= and not links.php?lpath=.

If you use links.php?lpath= then you will get bounced back to links.php and the categories as the extension is wrong must be lPath= note the capital P..

Steve - your code does work. I hadn't actually tried it since I had already tried a back link and it failed. Turns out what I did was just duplicate the existing code and change the href. But the exiting code uses the tep_get_all_get_params() argument and I didn't notice that. After puting in your code and testing it, I found it works great. Thanks for forcing me to look at it again..

Not sure if this is what you are after JACK.

Change the code in links.php lines 251 and 252 to.

<td width="10"><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '10', '1'); ?></td>.

<td class="main" align="left"><?php echo '<a href="'tep_href_link(FILENAME_LINKS, '')'">'tep_image_button('button_back.gif', IMAGE_BUTTON_BACK)'</a>'; ?></td>.

<td width="10"><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '10', '1'); ?></td>.

<td class="main" align="right"><?php echo '<a href="'tep_href_link(FILENAME_LINKS_SUBMIT, tep_get_all_get_params())'">'tep_image_button('button_submit_link.gif', IMAGE_BUTTON_SUBMIT_LINK)'</a>'; ?></td>.

<td width="10"><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '10', '1'); ?></td>.

This is a simple method of back.
