First off, Why Medifast Diet doesn't work for me...? Many thanks for any answer or 2. Another quick question... Other topics will be discussed that may not be appropriate for the easily offended..

Please discontinue reading Tough Love threads if they are going to cause you to become upset..

Medifast is a wonderful program with many different types of support and a fabulous community. We understand that everyone is an adult and this is not a "mean" group. For some of us, we thrive on this program if we have a place where we are held accountable, where we commit to the program 100% and where we have a place to chat with others who feel the same..

What we believe:.

1. Cheating on Medifast is NOT a strategy to get us out of our fat suits.

2. The only way for us to learn about our problems with food is to take the word "choice" out of the equation when it comes to Medifast. Our only "choice" is 5 packets and 1 weighed and measured lean and green a day.

3. We look to those who have been successful with this strategy to continuously remind us about why this way, for us, is the way to go.

4. We believe that, even though we are completely committed, knowing that we have a group that holds us accountable for our actions is both useful and important.

We commit to:.

1. Remove the word "choice" from our vocabularies.

2. Follow the Medifast plan as written, including transition and maintenance.

3. Tell our "inner brat" to shut the H-E-** up and quiet him or her through abstenance from off plan foods.

4. Give and receive tough love without complaining or calling each other "mean".

5. Cheerlead fellow group members as they follow the path to thinness.

6. Make Medifast the LAST diet we ever go on.

7. Check in with the group as often as our schedule reasonably allows.

8. Be honest with ourselves and our Medifast family and to stay 100% OP at all times. We also swear that WHEN (not if) we are having a tough time and feel like we may eat SLUDGE, to come to our Medifast family first and ask for support and help to get us through the struggle..

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer to your question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I got an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could give you help..

Morning MT, Anna. Quick fly by to get some coffee and wave to all the TLers. Raining here - could turn into freezing. Let's hope not..

Anna, enjoy your precious time with DH!..

Morning MT! Thanks for the coffee - need some ASAP!!!! Mornin' Anna and Jan..

Great news - it's my official weigh in day and I had hoped for 3 pounds to make my mini-goal - but I lost.

Instead!!!!! Woooohoooo!!!!! I ordered my first charm, which is now my avatar... silly, I know..

Hope everyone is well. MT - is there enough for a 2nd cup? I'm a bit tired this morning!.

Good morning MT, thanks for getting us going..

Hi Anna and Jan, hope you have a good Wednesday..

Melissa 4 pounds! Wow!.

And an in advance hello to everyone else...

Morning, all! Nice loss, Melissa! Congratulations!.

Jan, wild caught fish is better because it eats what fish normally eat. The downside is they may have more mercury and other toxins. Farm raised is better because their bodies are cleaner (fewer toxins), but since they are often over fed to fatten them up, and fed things they wouldn't normally eat, they're usually fattier. Six of one and half a dozen of the other. It's always something. Same argument as the grass-fed vs.

I'm tired today and I appreciate the special morning blend, MT. What shall we call this one? Ice Storm Roast? State of Emergency Blend?..

Morning' Anony and Penny! Jan, I've been trying to find wild catfish - dh says you have to fish it out yourself. So perhaps a Thousand Island trip is in order this summer! I hear there are lots of catfish up that way. I wonder if you can taste any difference between the wild and farmed.....

I just learned how to cook fish last week. I'm concerned about sustainability, both through responsible fishing and responsible farming. This website.

Tells a lot about which fish to choose if that's what you're concerned about. So far though, I haven't been able to find much locally that fits the bill. I did read though that Costco has promised to make sure that all the fish it sells is sustainable..

I'm not too concerned about mercury or other toxins, I figure there's so much sinking into me every day that I'll never know about (and I smoked for 20 years) that I don't worry about it...

It's official, the mind is GONE!!! Alarm went off, I turned it off and went back to sleep. Woke up and I saw 5:47 on the clock. Dang! overslept! Jumped up, sped through my shower, grabbed my stuff and rushed out of the house. Went to get on the freeway and was surprised that the on-ramp meter wasn't on. Looked at the clock in my car and it's 5:17!!! So, here I am at work an hour early. It's going to be one of those days.

Hopefully the coffee starts to work soon..

Morning everyone...

Good morning, TL'ers!.

De- I hate mornings like that, but they are kind of funny too!.

It's my weigh-in day and I was so scared of a week 3 stall. But I'm glad to report I'm down 2 lbs. I changed my ticker, and I'm so close to having less than 100lbs to lose. Over the last 2 days I've added exercise back in, so we'll see how that goes. When I started, I set a goal of losing 30lbs by my birthday which was 8 weeks away. I'm halfway there after 3 weeks!.

On the pinkslip- I'm trying not to stress. A lot can happen between now and the final layoff date. I have to go to layoff hearings the first week of April. I'm very proud of myself because instead of moping around, sitting on my butt watching tv, or eating, I was very active yesterday. I took DD to karate and then out for an hour to practice her pitching for softball (I got exercise), and then we went to the gym. I didn't work out for a long time, but it was something!.

Check in with you all later! Have a great hump day!..

Good Morning De - Extra high test for you dear! I hope your day gets better..

Hey Knitty - WAY TO GO on the weight loss Wednesday Weigh In buddy! Sounds like you're taking the right attitude - it's hard, but you're right, you never know - it could all work out (and I pray it does!)..

Anony, I'm with you on the toxin thing - it was never my concern - weird, I know. I figure if the sugar didn't kill me, the toxins probably won't!.

Ok, so I'm off to get some work done, Hi! to all the ones who come in later... I'll be back in a bit..

Mellissa - Forgot to give you a big WOOT on the loss!! I think it's just one of those weeks. Oh well. Keeps life interesting!.

Dierdre - AWESOME week 3 loss! I admire your attitude and determination. Truly, with your attitude I just can't see you being out of work for very long. And I agree, after I get over the fact that I lost a much needed hour of sleep, I will find the humor in it. I always do when I do stewpid things...

Quick hugs to all... Extremely busy day today having a quick shake and then out the door...

Congrats to all with losses... Hope to catch up later.

Good morning all!.

Melissa - Congrats on the 4 lbs. And the charm is cute! Good job..

Dierdre - Congrats on your week 3 loss. Week 3 was a tough one for me. And I didn't get a chance last night, but sorry about your pink slip. I hope it all works out. You seem to have a positive attitude..

De - Hope you have a good extra hour at work. Can you turn down the lights, put some soft music on and take a cat nap?.

Waves to everyone else who is here before, during and after me..

I am off to fill my coffee cup and get ready for the day. I think it's supposed to be in the high 70's here today. Love it!.

Have a good one everyone!..

Good morning all, haven't been by in awhile, really busy these days. De, sounds like your morning was rather suckish..

Since you arrived early can you leave early.

Hope everyone has a good day, I'll check back in later..

Hi all. State testing week at school so it's been a light week for lesson plans but the rest of my day has been crowded! Fitting in all those errands after school I'm usually too late to get to... bank, blood work, meeting with insurance lady, etc..

3 & 4 pounds lost! Wow! I loved those weeks!.

I can taste a difference in wild catfish and farm raised catfish. I actually prefer farm raised but that's probably because of the fattier meat :P.

At school the other day, our clocks jumped ahead an hour for some reason while I was having a meeting. I looked up at the clock at the end of the meeting and was shocked that our meeting took so long. I was ready to dash out the door to get to another appointment when I looked at the clock on my computer. Whew! I think I burned some calories from the pumping adrenaline though!.

Just a quick fly by... I do get to read everyone when I get home tonight though. Thanks to all the regulars that make it so fun to sit down with my evening snack and relax...

This sounds yummy! Right off the dock at in Vermont! MIL's own a cabin on a lake. Now I can't wait to go...

MT.... thanks for putting the coffee on!.

Anna, have fun, let us know how the battle goes..

Melissa, good job on the 4 lbs. That rocks!!.

Penny, I teach the childbirth classes at our hospital and one of them (it's a 4 part series) focuses on minimizing risks during pregnancy. Just second nature for me to keep all that stuff in my head. But yes, most everything in life has some risk... pick your poison as they say!.

De, ohmigosh... that's awful.. I'm really not laughing... no, I swear I'm not... okay, maybe a giggle... oh gosh...

Dierdre, congrats on the loss. My SIL is a high school french and spanish teacher... she went through the pink slip thing two years ago but ended up not losing her job. I believe her district's concept was to give people a chance to find another job but hope they wouldn't have to actually lay off that many when the true budget figures came out..

Mornin' Cheri, Cindy, Zoe and Nan!..

Ella - Never fear. I ALWAYS get even!.

BWA HA HA HA... nope. Not a'feered. My ILs are British, snark is a daily way of life! I'll simply consider it an honor when you do nail me with one!..

The rain finally stopped here, momentarily, so it might be a good day. If it rains again they won't be able to dig up my septic any time soon!.

Melissa: I had a feeling you'd get that 1st charm today! Congrats..

Deidre: Great job hitting the dreaded 3rd week with a 2 lb. loss!.

A fond hello to MT, Anna, Jan, Zoe, Penny, Nan, Cindy, Cheri, KJM, Lori, Ella, and Mia and anybody else who slips in today! (I love that we have so many friends here!).

De: You want to hear about "stewpid"???? Yesterday I did my errand to Costco. (In the pouring rain, no less.) I filled my shopping cart to the brim and probably had about $250 to $300 worth of stuff in it. Got to the register with my Costco Amex and my coupons and the cashier politely informed me that the coupons were not valid until the 10th of March. ARGHHHHH!.

I put it all back and walked out with the 4 items I had that were not coupon items..

I know ya'll are laughing...and well you should...but it gets worse because believe it or not, I have actually DONE THIS BEFORE!.

Oh dear, can I blame it on turning 55 this year?..

Hi and thank you Nan & De (and yes, I am very afraid of the fuzzy - trust me on that!) & Hi and thank you Cheri & Ella!!!!!.

Mia - I'll meet you at the cabin! I went to school in So. Woodstock so I have a lot of VT in my blood. I went back for a 36 year reunion last summer (oh don't I wish I'd had Medifast then!) and it was just wonderful. I've never been to a Thousand Islands, but I hear it's peaceful as well..

Well, the fruit and nut bar, it sucketh. At least I think so. Won't be doing that again any time soon. They may go in my basement for emergency rations just in case... :-).

I'm having a weird tastebud change. All my Medifast foods have been way too sweet for me the last few days. The shakes and puddings taste like liquid sugar. They tasted barely sweetened when I started, then really good last week..

I think everything else being too sweet is a sign it is time to start eating the oatmeal again!..

Chicken noodle soup at 10 am is quite good <smacking lips>...

I waited like 5 months to start eating the oatmeal. Now I love it and eat a couple spoonfuls raw before I even nuke it. Yum!..

Me too, I thought the oatmeal tasted like "gruel" (like I have even ever had gruel LOL) but now I like it. Can't say there is anything I actually dislike on this plan - even toothpaste tastes good !!..

I don't like these tickers Penny! They move to danged slow!!!..

I agree. We need a little tugboat to get in back of our Carnival Legend and give her a push!..

I"m with you oatmeal lovers. I tried it my second week and hated it. Tried it again around month 3 and loved it. Now I have it every day. Love my oatmeal!!!!!.

Pittie - Been there done that with Costco. Now I make sure to circle the dates on the coupons. So I can laugh with you and at you...

Good morning all! I am in shock. This morning I have entered a new decade and have gone from obese to overweight..

Down 3 pounds ladies and gentlemen!.

I haven't been this weight since I was a sophomore in college in 1995. I'm only 10 pounds away from being at my lowest weight ever as an adult. Wow..

You all play a part in my weight loss and I want to give you a huge hug and a thank you. I come to this board when I'm bored, lonely, snacky craving, etc, and reading your upbeat, onplan posts helps me so much to stay on plan..

There's a part of me that thinks I can't lose weight. This part is getting smaller and smaller by the pound though. I was thinking this morning before I got out of bed how much I've been hoping to get to the 170s soon but hoping so much can easily cause a stall. I stalled out at the 2-teens and at 200.1 because I was super stressing out and hopping on the scale 5 times a day. Sunday I put away the scale because I purposely didn't want that to happen now when I'm trying to get into a new decade..

Just keeping on keeping on and letting the Medifast magic work. Happy friggin hump day to me..

Yay for making it to the 170s.

Good job to all our losers..

Sorry you went to work an hour early..

The fish chat was interesting. I don't love fish but I'm trying to have it once a week at least now...

Cheri, you made me feel a little better...only I'm sure you haven't done it TWICE! But, yes, I think it is kind of funny that I did it again, so I am laughing too..

Woot! Woot! for you Sassy! Getting to a new decade is so much fun....and you really don't have far to goal...

Thanks pittie!! I realized today that my mind is having a hard time wrapping around the fact that I'm a girl with less than 30 pounds to lose, rather than the girl with 140 pounds to lose..

Boy I hear ya there! I don't know if you've noticed, but my goal is 140.5 pounds less than my beginning weight..

We are BOTH actually, and in reality, getting there! Yay for us! (And I wish my "mind" got it too.)..

Good morning everyone. Just stopping by for a quick hi. I got to move my ticker a pound today and feeling good about the program and 100% OP all the way. Im a daily weigher which is good and bad at the same time...Off to the shower and then to work. May be able to stop by while at work tonight..

Good day and Cheers,.

Holy cow pittie! Awesome! Can you believe we're so close??..

Yay Sassy and Pittie, and all the other losers!!!!..

Aw, I love having cheerleaders! Thanks!.

Sassy, I don't think I really believe I have less than 30 pounds to goal. I bought myself a $3 skirt at Walmart 2 days ago, thinking I won't be able to wear it until I get into the lower 150's. It is a size Medium (10-12). It fits me perfectly right now..

I have no mental picture of my own size. In so many ways my mind pictures me as still HUGE...

Frey's twin....

Have you ever noticed that one of the women on the sign in page looks a lot like Freya? I think it every time I sign in. The chick all the way to the right. It's you Freya, I'm sure of it...

Ha! I have a co-worker who is positive that she knows that lady, actually. She saw me signing onto mymedifast one day at work and did a complete double take walking by. I think she said she was one of her teachers in nursing school, and that it makes sense"she was really really fat then."..

Really? You think I look like that? *shaking head*.

Well, at least she's pretty...

Sassy!! New Decade!! Pittie!! Look how far you've come!! Look how CLOSE YOU BOTH ARE!! Congratulations to you both!!..

Thanks everyone!! I am in disbelief. You'd think after losing nearly 110 pounds I wouldn't be such a doubting Thomas about my ability to lose weight... Jeez...

If you want it to be like a custard try adding just a bit of eggbeaters to it before you nuke it. I just love it that way!..

Ooo nan! I need to try that. I had the oatmeal on my first day and swore that I'd never eat it ever again. Now I actually look forward to it every morning and think the blueberry smells good while cooking. Whodathunk?..

Pittie and Sassy, you are sooo inspiring! It's great to see you get so close!.

And while my scale is refusing to budge (the curse of the daily weigher! LOL) I finally broke down and did two quick measurements (because I KNOW I'm not going crazy... well, okay, but at least this isn't proof of it) my waist is down 1/2 inch and my back/chest (I measure around the back and up over my upper chest like I always had to for dressmaking to get the right sizing) is down 1-1/2 inches! I haven't done the rest of the measurements, I'm a happy girl now (I KNEW my back was getting skinnier!) and I can wait until Friday to get the final measurements. And even if the scale doesn't budge I'll still be down 2 lbs. for the week...

Freya, she's pretty. I would take it as a compliment..

Nan, I will have to try the eggbeaters in the oatmeal... yummm......

Hahahahahah!! I am stealing this line from you!! Next time someone asks me how I lost the weight!!..

Oh, the downfalls to daily weighing... I had to stop daily weighing recently because I was driving myself nuts and I think causing a stall. When I stress out about losing weight I stop losing, then once I put the scale in a closet for a few days lots of pounds woosh right off! 3 did last night.

Plus, I'm on cloud nine about having successful dating experiences and could give a dang if the scale stalls for a few days...

I agree! I cannot stomach the oatmeal. I actually gagged...

Sassy, have you been holding out on us. Details. We require details!!!..

Oh Sassy, you better tell us..

Cheri, only 4 pounds from goal is definitely inspiring me on!..

Ha! You funny ladies.

I had a first date with dude #2 (dude #1 was a dud-NEXT!) on Saturday. A 3 hour coffee date with a really nervous stranger. It was actually a lot of fun and by the time I'd gotten home he'd already emailed me and said he really enjoyed meeting me and he wants to see me again. He's out of town on vacation but we have date #2 set up for next week. A bunch of other men are emailing me and want to set up a date. No one is standing out yet (though I do like dude #2) but I'm having a great time feeling desirable...

That is way awesome, Sassy!.

Have a WHOLE BUNCH of fun with this new-found desirability!..

Sweet, sweet stuff, Sassy! Have a great time! But keep your plan and getting to goal as your #1 priority! (As if you need me to tell you that!.

Wow - Pittiekisses & Sassyhope, look at you two go - I am bowing at your feet you AWESOME losers!!!! :-) Great job!.

Megan - a pound is a pound - we'll take it, right? Good going!!!!.

I too can never wrap my head around being thin when I am. I just always see myself as the fat one in the room... very strange that. Of course, I'm never thin long enough to get used to it - it never gets a chance to become who I am... so I'm out to change that big time!.

Dh was so proud of my loss that he brought to Kohls where I got a couple of tops. I didn't get much because I expect not to be this size in the summer... which also takes me to what to do with the winter stuff that I would normally pack into suitcases - I'm thinking give it all away....

Tomorrow is my work friend's (guy) wedding shower that I'm putting on for 100+ people. It's nice to know I'm going to be just fine regardless of what is put out because I have my Medifast food and that's what I'm eating. The idea of going off plan is like in another stratosphere for me. I told him not to freak out that I'm not eating his sludge - he'll live. And he will, and so will I because I'm staying OP no matter what..

Well I'm off for the night - I hope everyone is well - my love to you all!!!!.

Melissa, I have been wondering...What is your avi?.

Just got my new order of Medifast food. I am stocked up on pancakes for a while now.

I also decided to break down and try the nacho cheese puffs. Going to be my last meal tonight..

Sassy - You sound like you're having fun. So happy for you..

De, let me know how you like those cheezy poofs. I think they are my favorite Medifast meal this week. I'm gonna have a chocolate chip pancake in a cup as soon as the little one is down for the night. She's reading For the Love of Winn Dixie. She reads for about 15 - 20 minutes each night before bed..

I'm off to break into a new batch of beads and see what I can create!..

Rut roh.....fear the fuzzy is up. Not sure I want to know what brought that on..

So I'm here. I know I did not check in yesterday, but I was super busy. I've got a scientist in my lab this week and it takes up all my time to get my thoughts, lessons, etc together. So I got home last night after 8, watched the Biggest Loser, and then went to bed..

Holding my own tough. No sludge here..

Good to see some losers in here today! I love losers..

Have a great night all..

PS....I don't fear you too much De..

Sure you do Barb!.

Penny - Will let you know what I think of them...

Did I miss something? Are you going on Penny's cruise as well?.

I'd be afraid of that!..

Hmmm.... I think I did miss something. My house is empty. DH isn't here, but his phone is. DD isn't here but her car is. Now instead of enjoying the empty house, I am going to wonder why it is empty and no one left me a note...

Ummmm, yeah, and have been for a while. hehe Wakey wakey!..

Think I'm going to log off. I am so stinking tired! Did find out what happened this morning. Apparently when I set the time for my alarm, I also changed the actual time by an hour. <sigh> It's fixed now. Talk to you tomorrow...

Just checking in quick. Exhausted, but work went fast. I avoided sludge. Hope everyone else avoided any sludge slung their way as well!.

I have had a perfectly on plan day with no BLTs... Yea, me!!!..

Tara-I had a ton of sludge slung at me at work this shift, but I held strong and kept my eye on the prize..

Cheers, Megan..
